Professional Experience:
1. United States Military Intelligence 1968 to 1971
Special Agent, conducted background investigations on people requiring top secret clearances for
their positions with the United States Government. My major area of responsibility was NASA,
located in Houston, TX.
2. San Diego County District Attorney’s Office 1974 to 1977
Worked as a legal intern, and then as an attorney; handling criminal prosecutions of all types of
cases for the District Attorney’s Office.
3. Private Practice Attorney 1977 to 2009
Worked as a trial attorney, specializing in the representation of the plaintiff in civil litigations. I was the
owner and managing partner of my law firm from and my responsibilities included being lead counsel in
approximately 100 jury trials, and 2,000 cases. The forgoing involved the leadership of a team of as many
as 20 people, organization of evidence and the effective communication to the jury for dozens of multi-
million dollar cases to their successful conclusion.

1. Rated “Pre-Eminent” by Martindale Hubble
1% of all attorneys are rated AV, and 1% of those attorneys are rated Pre-Eminent. Rating is
conducted anonymously by judges and other attorneys.
2. Regular member of a Select Committee of Presidential Advisors 1980 to 2007
Making recommendations to the President of the United States for Federal Judges and U.S.
Attorneys in the Southern District of California.
3. Elected to the Hall of Fame - Western State University - College of Law 1998
