ROSS ALUMINUM CASTINGS, LLC, Sidney, Ohio
President & CEO, 2006-August 2013
President & CEO charged with ever-increasing responsibility over aluminum and iron casting foundries, including Oberdorfer Castings and Mabry Iron Castings.
Oversaw a combined $50M in sales with 360 associates that served the aerospace and industrial markets.
Implemented strategies for lean manufacturing i.e. design of experiments, Kanban, workcell, and cellular layouts.
Collaborated with equity group owners to increase operational efficiency and profits of the foundries.
Evaluated and analyzed operations, costs, personnel, and product processes, and implemented changes to improve in all areas.
Took over additional responsibility of underperforming operations the Oberdorfer Aluminum Foundry during 2007 and the Mabry Iron Foundry in 2011 and focused on improvements in operations and sales that returned both foundries to profitable levels.
Worked with all major customers to establish productive working relationships.
Key Accomplishments:
When Oberdorfer Castings was faced with the loss of a major customer, led the company through restructuring changes that made it a profitable operation again within three months.
Upon the equity group’s acquiring of the Ross Aluminum Foundry in 2007, immediately resized the operation, accelerated cost downs, and improved product through-put in order to return it to profitability; foundry has been profitable every year since.
Successfully rebuilt the management team at Ross Aluminum Castings in 2007 when many of the original management stayed with the selling group.
Negotiated $1.2M subordinated debt balloon payment for additional three years at a reduced interest rate.
Strategically moved the focus of the company to aerospace markets, improving quality systems and achieving Nadcap certification, which has reduced the impact of commercial business moving to least cost countries.

Oversaw the injection molded plastics company with combined sales of $25M.
Managed personnel by hiring, training, supervising, and disciplining employees when necessary.
Directed facility operations to streamline production, improve efficiency and profit, and cut costs.

Key Accomplishments:
Continued profitability for the Oneida and Phoenix facilities during a period in which the largest customer was transitioning manufacturing to China, through cost improvements and addition of new customers.
Was given responsibility of the Siler City facility in 2004 when it was no longer profitable. Improved operating efficiencies, eliminated past due, and reduced inventory to make it profitable again within four months.
Contributed significantly to the presentation and successful sale of the company in 2006, having achieved and maintained consistent profitability of the operations.
ONEIDA ROSTONE CORP., Oneida, NY, 1994-2000

Oversaw five of the company’s seven manufacturing facilities, which included 850+ of the 1,000+ employees and $100M in sales, with both union and non-union facilities.
Established reporting and tracking processes to achieve all management goals, controlling the cost drivers in manufacturing and returning one unit to profitability within two months.
Key Accomplishments:
Administered cost reduction initiative, returning 3+% of sales for several years.
Achieved cost reductions of $400K in vendor contract negotiations, which led to a direct improvement in profit.
Vice President & CFO, 1994-1997
Managed company’s acquisition efforts.
Successfully negotiated the purchase of $15M division.
Key Accomplishments:
Improved company cash flow by centralizing cash functions, reducing A/R days outstanding, and improving inventory turns.
Previous positions include Vice President/General Manager and Vice President/CFO at LIPE Rollway Corporation, a 300+ employee manufacturer of precision bearings. Product was marketed domestically and internationally through industrial distributors, original manufacturers, and the aerospace industry.
