Quality Control Lab Technician
• Perform chemical and physical laboratory tests to analyze batch samples of water-soluble polymers (Powder, Solution, and
Emulsion grades) used for municipal waste, industrial waste, wastewater treatment, mining, and oil field applications around
the world.
• Products include: flocculants, dispersants, polyacrylamides, quaternized cationic monomers, Mannich, DADMAC,
coagulant grades, polymer/inorganic blends, custom polymers, and superabsorbent.
• Follow standardized formulas and/or experimental procedures to ensure that products comply with established
specifications.
• Assure accurate and timely input and documentation of QC data to real-time information systems for the generation of
Certificate of Analysis. (e.g. OMNIS)
• Perform calibrations, operations, and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment according to procedures and
manufacturer requirements.
• Follow laboratory safety protocols, standard operating procedures and chemical hygiene plan.
Powder/Emulsion Labs
•Perform all tasks associated with the quality control analysis of powder, emulsion, and solution cationic,
anionic, and non-ionic polyacrylamide copolymers.
•Tests include, but are not limited to: UL viscosity, bulk viscosity, solution viscosity, solubility, moisture/non-
volatile solid content, titration, pH, particle size, specific gravity, and density.
Instrumentation Lab
• Operate HPLC systems to separate and measure acrylamide and/or acrylic acid levels in powder, emulsion,
and environmental water samples.
• Operate GC equipment for purity tests on solvents and composition of solvent blends.
• Operate auto-titrators to analyze cationic monomers, lithium chlorides, and environmental samples.
• Calibrate LC’s against calibration curve using standards at different concentrations.
• Prepare a variety of mobile phase solutions conducive to product polarity.
