Engineering Experience
Solid Professor 1495 Pacific Highway, San Diego, CA Becky Abarca:
619-***-**** October 2014 - Present
CAD Design & Product Development 20 hours/ week
$12.50/hour
Assist with the production of comprehensive training and
educational tutorials for SolidWorks users.
Requires proficiency in SolidWorks and thorough understanding of
mechanical design.
Will obtain Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) certification
upon completion of internship.

UAV/UUV Launch and Recovery System - Senior Project
Coordinating with SPAWAR for my senior project to design,
fabricate, and test a launch and recovery system for an Unmanned
Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) that
will attach to the WAM-V autonomous Unmanned Surface Vehicle
(USV).
Meet with mentors and team members on a consistent basis to ensure
adherence to our proposed timeline and to deliberate and analyze
design concepts.
Composed written project proposals and outlines to establish and
maintain a structured development plan.
NASA - Jet Propulsion Laboratory Pasadena, CA Eleanor Basilio:
818-***-**** June 2014 - August 2014
Ground Systems Engineer 40 hours/week $600/week
Developed a low cost Customer Assistance Package (ICAP), which is
a collection of user tools, services, software, and documents
for use with future CubeSat missions.
Standardized the ICAP so that it can be easily distributed to
companies and universities that are interested in purchasing the
package for their own CubeSat projects.
Obtained familiarization with Linux and AMPCS, which is an
internally developed application that is responsible for uplink
and downlink telemetry between ground systems and spacecrafts.
Published a web page containing a user manual, installation guide,
and deployment guide that provides detail on the utilization of
the small satellite Customer Assistance Package and AMPCS.
INSPIRE Exoskeleton Design
. Utilized SolidWorks to design a protective exoskeleton case for
INSPIRE, a future JPL CubeSat mission that will be the first to
enter deep space.
. Emphasis was placed on cost efficiency and protection of the
solar panels on the spacecraft.
Society of Automotive Engineers (FSAE)
September

Brake Systems Manufacturing
Organization that annually builds a formula racecar and competes
internationally.
Assisted with redesigning and fabricating brake rotors, brake lines,
brake pads, and master cylinder mounting bracket by using water jet,
CNC, and milling machines.
Conducted brake evaluation using Finite Element Analysis
Responsible for brake maintenance, including brake fluid bleeding,
cleaning, fluid level adjustments, and repairing malfunctions.
Communicated with several distributors to obtain donated materials and
sponsorship.
