Product Assurance Engineer – International Game Technology, Reno, Nevada – 2000 – 2011 2012 – 2014

Setup, Configure and Test wide range of Casino Management systems software including EZPay/IVS, IGS, Advantage, SBx, Smart-Card, MagCard and X-Series Ticketing.

Conducted all aspects of Software testing including Integration, Unit Testing, User Interface, Load Testing, Black/White box.

Document and track defects found clearly and precisely to enable for a timely fix and accurate regression testing.

Review and report testing results through Data Reporting, Application Transactions (SQL), Application Log Data (XML) and Test Script results.

Test compatibility of numerous peripheral devices and systems complimenting IGT Systems including Voucher Redemption Terminals, Handheld validation devices, Softcount devices, Magnetic card Burners/Readers and Bar Code Readers.

Set up and maintain Networked assets with TCP/IP, Ethernet, Fiber Optic and serial communications and associated hardware.

Collaborate with various Game and Peripheral Device Manufactures to ensure Gaming Machine/System software compatibility with IGT products, reducing field support issues.

Setup and maintain testing lab equipment including Gaming Machine connectivity and maintenance, updating firmware and software in the various devices and ensuring the test lab assets are operational for testing. This decreased the overhead of project testing by being able to update game machine and peripheral devices faster and more efficiently. This also allowed for the department budget to be spent more practically by lengthening the life of testing assets.

Create test plans and cases using HP Quality Center to establish strict testing guidelines and goals so projects are completed on time and on budget.

Interface closely with developers providing project status and reporting, recreating high priority defects to assist in their proper resolution and ensure the accuracy of the released product.

Research, recommend and order required departmental hardware and software keeping within department budget.

Establish departmental processes and procedures to maintain optimal testing efficiency and accuracy and reduce time and cost of project lifecycle.

Provides input for automated testing tools development.

Quality Assurance Lead Technician – Attest Systems, INC., Novato, Ca. 1998 - 2000

Created and setup quality assurance standards and procedures for Attest Systems, INC. Initiated numerous processes to ensure the smooth testing of products utilizing both in-house and external resources, saving time and lowering cost of the overall product lifecycle.

Responsible for creating and executing test plans, test cases, task lists and testing budgets on pre-released versions of software.

Responsible for Quality Assurance test lab setup and maintenance including networking, data backup, defect tracking system (PVCS Tracker) and hardware/software installation.

Unit Lead Technician (Kids Studio) – Broderbund Software, Novato, CA 1992 - 1998

Headed testing for the Kids Studio line of educational and entertainment software.
