Accomplishments :
Lance M. Cobb 770-***-****
I have seen hundreds of students graduate over the past years of student ministry. It has been a joy to
celebrate their middle school and high school careers, successes, leadership and impact on our world every
year for the past 20 years. I have been a part of broken families being healed, destroyed lives being re -built
and watching young lives transform into mature adults. It has been a wonderful career of mentorship and
challenge and I am so thankful for being allowed to be a part of their lives.
In Philadelphia, I applied for a grant for an urban computer lab for a small urban church. We received $17,000
and built an educational facility with computers for this community and church. It was truly rewarding to be a
part of the construction, development, administration and implantation of all aspects. They still use it today
and have learned how to continue to find resources to fund future uses.
We took a group of 25 urban, inner-city youth to Puerto Rico. We had purchased all tickets and raised the
funds for the trip and then only a few weeks before the trip, Tower Air, our airline to Puerto Rico, announced
its bankruptcy. We had lost our 25 tickets and had to fundraise much of that once again. We got on the
news and in the newspaper and raised more than enough to make our trip happen. Many of those students
went on to be in our leadership training program and are still a joy to be in contac t with as their lives are
making differences all over.
I started a program that prompted our congregation to take one Sunday off and go out and serve on teams in
the community and locals schools. Teams went out and cleaned up parks, painted classrooms, washed cars,
delivered food, met needs from our local community leaders. Teams came back together for a meal and
sharing how they were able to serve and what impact they made. Canceling a service was a huge
administrative and logistical hurdle but the v alue was clear as we continued to serve in this way for years to
come.
