NWR Partnership is presently engaged in building an Oil Refinery
Project Size Approx. $8.5 Billion
Responsible for and managed (cost, schedule, change management, risk
identification and mitigation, document control) multiple silos/units (up
to 6 of 9 silos/units from across the globe). Developed and wrote
procedures for Project Controls group. Assisted in progressing project
through DBM, EDS, EDE and execution stages of the project. Responsible for
Corporate Estimate of overall project estimate. Worked directly Project
Directors and supported Project Managers while leading a team of project
controls.
Contractors working in both Lump Sum and Cost Reimbursable environments.

Suncor Energy is a Major Oil Producer in the
Canadian Oil Sands projects in Northern Alberta
Managed (cost, schedule, trend, risk identification and mitigation) multi
scopes of project controls work at Suncor's Firebag Construction Project
concurrently, including (Water, Steam Generation, Bitumen Extraction)
construction of Central Facilities; plus pre-commissioning, commissioning;
plus multiple smaller contracts. All scope contained with Major Projects
division.
Successfully negotiated reduction in Cost of in excess of $44,000,000 (22%)
on Change Management estimates provided by contractor (Scope B-scope value
197,000,000). Contractors working in both Lump Sum and Cost Reimbursable
environments. Contributed to Senior Management forecasts of future work
and potential development.
Project Controls Lead-Syncrude Canada Ltd.-December 2008 - June 2009
Contracted through ARES Project Management and Consulting.
Syncrude Canada Ltd is a Major Oil Producer in the
Canadian Oil Sands projects in Northern Alberta
Facilitated controls activities of a project pertaining to an insurance
claim and rebuild of an Electrostatic Precipitator. Compliance to
regulatory, company policy/reporting, and insurance documentation were
unquestioned. Compiled stewardship reporting to senior management and
insurance providers.
Assisted other team members in overall project direction while completing
Project Control duties. Successfully supervised site engineers and
document flow. Directed contractor/owner intervention/resolution, special
project/evaluations to ensure proper end-of-line and demarcation signals.
Chief point of contact for insurance adjusters as it related to audits,
plant visits, and diagnosing report/detail problems at site or remote
office locations.
Senior Cost Control Engineer-Syncrude Canada Ltd.-July 2008 - December 2008
Contracted through ARES Project Management and Consulting.
Syncrude Canada Ltd is a Major Oil Producer in the
Canadian Oil Sands projects in Northern Alberta
Developed and maintained project specific cost reporting, forecasting and
analysis protocols and spreadsheets for two separate projects improved
reporting time, from weekly to daily, utilizing Data Recover software and
techniques which resulted in accurate cost data and projection for project
management. Assisted with expense mitigation and risk reduction.
Controlled projects to agreed plans and processes utilizing fundamental
tools of financial stewardship, cost, management of change, key issues and
lessons learned. Monitored contractors' resources, contractors' cost
validations, contractor deliverables and schedule maintenance.
December 2006 - July 2008: 1 -Commenced Courier Business, Lethbridge,
