Dear Human Resource Manager:
I am interested in obtaining a position as an Event Representative as
I believe I have the skills, education and work ethic to be successful in
this role. My experience as a Health Educator with the University of Guelph
Wellness Centre has provided me with ongoing training and experience with
issues surrounding mental health, sexual health, nutrition and many other
community health related issues. Specifically, I was the Coordinator of the
group Acceptance Without Limits (AWL), which runs initiatives on campus to
promote a healthy body image and provides resources to those suffering from
or who may know someone with an eating disorder. In this role, I developed
and ran campus initiatives, facilitated workshops and staffed the Wellness
Centre. The ongoing training throughout my time at the Wellness Centre has
given me the skills to effectively tackle multiple tasks, meet deadlines
and achieve set goals. Furthermore, it has enabled me to develop strong
presentation skills and to effectively communicate and develop rapports
with others.
My education in the Adult Development program from the University of
Guelph has complemented my practical experience through providing me with
an interdisciplinary approach to education. This approach took into
consideration psychological, social, economical and individual factors
which impact health, relationships and well-being across the lifespan.
These variables are present in virtually all aspects of life which makes
the information learned transferable to this role. Some of the courses
that I have enjoyed and performed well in include: Aging and Health,
Research Methods, Community and Family Nutrition, Intellectual Disabilities
and Program Design for Human Services. In addition to my education
background, I am a fast learner and I am very adaptable to new situations
that may arise. I work in an organized fashion and I complete tasks well
and with a positive attitude.
I believe that I could contribute significantly to your organization
because I believe in integrity in all workforces and strongly value
helping others. Furthermore, I am up for a challenge and feel that this
position would be meaningful to me. I look forward to discussing my
qualifications further in an interview. Please contact me at the above
address or at 519-***-****
Sincerely,
Cassidy Atkinson-Ethier
