JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Responsible for AS/400 system management, performance and utilization of DASD, Technical support in the following areas: system operation, security, performance tuning, job scheduling, data backups and recovery, user administration, disk storage management, Lotus Notes support, Server, PC OS installation and peripherals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• AS400 administrator
• Responsible for the Security of the System, including creating user profile menu, restrictions of the user’s authority for programmers and users, upgrade for the new OS release and other security which applied the system.
• Conducts Initial Program Loading by scheduled date and time (model 800 and pSeries).
• Checking of Back-up files and Libraries on job log.
• Assist users for their new assignments as Client Users Access
• Monitors job flow and system utilization to assure effective and efficient processing.
• Performs daily back-up procedures by submitting CL program to Batch job.
• Performs daily,10-day cycle and Monthly activities for MFG-BM, Parts Arrangement System, local Parts, Rough Forms, Shipping, KD Packing, Cutting Tools and other related as/400 procedures.
• Installation of Client Access to AS/400 pc users.
• Responsible of all of all daily, weekly, monthly and yearly System operations
• Maintains and updates the off-site back-up tapes/cartridges and diskettes.
• Maintains general safety conditions and good housekeeping conditions inside the computer room.
• Logs and reports all computer problems and initiates request for repair
• Performs basic troubleshooting to reduce waiting time.
• Evaluates and submit recommendations on usage of AS/400 peripheral, terminals and printers to ensure productivity and efficient utilization of hardware.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as maybe given or assign by the EDP and OPERATIONS Manager related to area of responsibilities of the position.
