WORK EXPERIENCE:

May 2008 to July 2008 - SRM Medical College, Kattankulathur; as Registrar in the Dept of

Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery – After completion of my MS in General Surgery, I had chosen my

field of interest to be Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and so had joined the Department of Plastic &

Reconstructive Surgery here and was exposed to Hand Surgery and Burn care.

Dec 2008 to Oct 2012 – Parvathy Hospital, Chrompet; as Visiting Consultant Hand &

Trauma Surgeon - Even as I pursued my Specialty training in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, I had

started operating on Hand injury and Poly-trauma patients. I had thus inculcated the quality of team work

and trauma care. I had operated on Hand Trauma, be it Industrial, Domestic or Road Traffic Accidents and

also in Poly- trauma patients who had compound fractures. I have handled these surgeries all through the

night also, providing comprehensive 24hour trauma care, capitalizing on the Golden Hour of Trauma and

thus have been a part of the team deciding & performing important Limb Salvage procedures.

Aug 2011 to Oct 2012 - Diabetic Foot Care and Podiatry at JIP Diabetic Centre, Chrompet

– I have a good exposure to Diabetic Foot problems. I was actively involved in treating foot ulcers and

was also actively involved preventing foot problems in Diabetic patients by imparting knowledge and

podiatric care.

Aug 2011 to April 2014 – SRM Medical College, Kattankuathur; as Assistant Professor in

Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery – Once I completed my specialization, I rejoined the Department of

Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. I was actively involved in Hand Surgery and Burn management along

with General Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery. I have individually managed Hand Fractures, Tendon injuries,

Vessel and Nerve injuries and compound fractures of the limbs. I have also managed Gynaecomastias and

Gigantomastias, Hair transplants, Abdominoplasties and Liposuctions. I have also managed patients with

cancer, providing soft tissue cover for post cancer excisional defects.

Nov 2012 till Date – Parvathy Hospital, Chrompet, as Consultant Plastic, Hand & Trauma

Surgeon – This hospital is the largest private centre catering to round the clock trauma, in the southern

part of the city of Chennai, situated on the busy National Highway 45. I actively perform Hand surgeries,

manage compound limb fractures and also perform Revascularization procedures. I have also managed

chronic wounds, Burn wounds, have designed flaps and also have rich Nerve Surgery experience. I have

performed Tendon Transfers and other complex hand surgeries. I have also participated in various CME

programs, giving Lectures on various topics. Industrial Hand Safety has been my primary area of focus

and prevention of Industrial Hand Injuries has been the centre point of my work.

ABOUT MYSELF:

I am a young and dynamic Plastic Surgeon. I have qualified from prestigious institutes as Madras

Medical College and have also acquired additional skills as Microsurgery and Craniofacial Fracture

Fixations. I have the capability to be a part of a team and deliver results. Even at the time of pursuing my

MCh I had worked in a trauma centre to gather the requisite skills of managing Hand and polytrauma

patients and working in a Team. I have the aptitude to learn new techniques and apply them for better

patient care.

I have a rich experience in managing trauma and hand injury patients, and can provide quality

care for early recovery of my patients. I have also worked in the field of Diabetic Foot Care and have

been able to bring my expertise to the need of proper wound managements in these patients.
