ACADEMIC PROJECTS
1. Energy aware distributed File System
In this project we designed a power awar e file system. In general file systems like Hadoop File System don't consider the
Amount of power that will be consumed during the time of placement of data or during computation of task. Therefore, we
Designed a new kind of file system that shall consider such factors and place the data in the nodes which consume least
Amount of power.
2. Solution to Backdoor virus (IEDC Sponsored Project)
We all know that the most hated viruses presently are the USB related viruses. Hence we built an anti -software product that shall
tackle such viruses. Our product can either be embedded into the pen drive (Portable Software) or else a stand -alone application. We
designed a easy to use interface and a effective and a unique algorithm to solve the problem of USB related viruses.
3. Reverse Engineering of Malware (Independent Study)
In this independent study I studied various malwares like Koutdoor, max++, TDSS, etc. and studied the impact of such viruses and
how these viruses affect your system.
4. Secure Query Execution using Pig/Hadoop and RBAC/XACML
The main aim of this project is to implement a real-world application that is capable of securely evaluating Pig scripts (basically,
SQL-like queries) as a series of Pig jobs. This Project helped us with setting up a Hadoop cluster, programming in Pig, as well as
authoring and enforcing XACML.
5. Secure VoIP calling and File Transfer
This project was part of my Network Security coursework. Here we built an android application where we could securely call an d
transfer files over VoIP calls. We used ZRTP for securing RTP and SIP signals. And AES encryption for securing files.
ACHIEVEMENTS
1. Won 2nd Prize in "Debugging in C".
2. Won 1st prize for Website Designing
3. Our proposal of "Solution to Backdoor Virus" was selected by IEDC.
4. Won various tournaments in Soccer.
5. Was the chief organizer of inter college festival and inter branch festivals at the college.
