WORK HISTORY & INDUSTRIAL BACKGROUND
Jul 14-Present Welder/Fitter Progress Rail/PMG
Anderson, IN Contract worker inside a facility that
builds locomotives for both domestic and foreign companies. Domestic
companies included Norfolk Southern, Burlington Northern Sante Fe, Canadian
Pacific, Kansas City Southern, and others. Worked in the underframe
department where I welded on both structural and pipe. The piping system
was for all air pressure systems including braking. Welded in the processes
of both SMAW and GMAW. Welded pipe using both E6010 and E7018. Structural
I welded with 3/32 and 1/8 E7018 and 5/32 E7024. Also in structural I
welded MIG using .035, .045, .052 wire size.
Oct 13- Jul 14 Welder Trinity
St. Charles, MO Welded on pipe using 1/16" wire dual shield
FCAW process. Most of the pipe was over 50 inches in diameter up to 108
inches in diameter. Was used as pilings for new bridge construction.
Nov 11- Oct 2013 Welder/Fitter TrailKing
Mitchell, SD Fit and weld hydraulic
goose necks for low boy trailers. Everything was from print. Used .052 hard
wire. All blueprints were on computer.
Feb 10-Nov 11 Welder Hendrickson
Mitchel, SD Welded on suspension
systems for semi-trailers, semi trucks, heavy construction equipment, and
military equipment. Used jigs to fit up the parts to make the components.
Welded using GMAW with .045 wire.
Mar 09-Feb 10 Maintenance/Pipefitter CaravanKnight Facilities
Management Fort Wayne, IN Worked in building maintenance
department. Responsible for all aspects of building upkeep. As a pipefitter
I was not limited to just pipefitting and welding, but did plumbing as well
as all mechanical maintenance. Was responsible for scheduled and preventive
maintenance. Was given a weekly schedule of all scheduled maintenance and
worked on them in order of priority. Also responded to maintenance calls,
such as overhead doors jammed or dock locks not working. Work was performed
in a GM truck plant. Safety was number one priority and policies were in
use that went above OSHA standards. Projects were also given to me and I
had to multi task to ensure all activities were completed.
Mar 07- Mar 09 Welder/Fitter QuickCut Fort
Wayne, IN Fitted and welded Poseidon barges using MIG welders.
Worked from blueprints. Used various grinders, torches, plasma cutter,
forklift, overhead crane, and other hand tools and equipment to complete
the job. Confined space welding
May 05-Mar 07 Welder RW Conklin
Steel Fort Wayne, IN Traveled to
and from several steel yards where I welded on H-piling and pipe piling.
Everything was welded outside in all weather conditions. Had a truck with a
welder/generator and used a suitcase welder with .045 FCAW wire.
Jul 03-May 05 Welder/Fabricator Buehrt Engineering
Warsaw, IN Welded and fabricated from
blueprints. Mostly stainless steel welding building kilns and other ovens
used in manufacturing. Metal thicknesses ranged from 14 gauge to 1 inch
stainless steel.
Apr 02-Jul 03 Welder
Hutton Welding Casey, IL
Worked in a small shop mostly taking care of farmers and oil drilling
companies. Mostly MIG welding but some stick and TIG welding. Most was
repair work. But some was also new fabrication work. Didn't have the luxury
of having an engineer or blueprints.

in the fracking industry. Small amount of fabrication work. Used overhead
cranes. Welded in confined spaces. Welded in all positions. All of it was
MIG welding using .045 wire.
