My objective is to work as a Road Construction Inspector in Florida in which to use my past experience from 20 years in

the Massachusetts Department of Transportation in that capacity to become an asset to your company and a valued

member of your team.

Work History: 1995-present: General Construction Inspector in the Engineering Division of the State of Massachusetts,

Department of Transportation. In this capacity, I was responsible for the daily supervision of major road and bridge

construction on Massachusetts highways, bridges, roads and interstates.

Highlights of Qualifications:

• Onsite inspection of roadway and bridge construction by a heavy highway contractor.

• Implement and enforce safety procedures on the job or worksite.

• Make job site inspections prior to scheduling work to ascertain working conditions and manpower, materials, and

equipment needs.

• Conduct inspections of work as it progresses, which includes materials tests, measuring quantities and quality of

materials, and ensuring compliance of contractually agreed upon methods and project outcome.

• Produce and maintain daily reports detailing progress of project, work performed, staff and crew present, weather

conditions, safety set-ups, and also produce pay slips for the contractor to be compensated while the project

progresses.

• Contact public in the area where crews and equipment are working, respond to their complaints and concerns, and

explain the nature of the work being performed. Generate written complaints as warranted.

• Notify media of governmental road projects to inform the public of potential delays, detours, and hazards.

• Maintain a good grasp of complex construction means and methods by attending seminars and continuing

education courses supplied and required by the State.

• Maintain a working relationship with contractors through communication, primarily through daily coordination of

work to be completed.

Education:

1974-1979: Seekonk High School, Fall River Avenue, Seekonk, MA. Diploma received.

1995- Present: Continuing education courses on construction and supervision management, on-line and through industry

publications.

Professional Certification and Continuing Education: Hot-Mix Asphalt, Work Zone Traffic Control, Design & Operation

of Work Zone Traffic Control, Driven Pile Foundations: Construction Monitoring, Transient Protection, Grounding and

Shielding of Electronic Traffic Control Equipment, Surveying, Fundamentals of Safety and Gauge operation for the use of

Nuclear Moisture/ Density Equipment.
