Name : Smart classroom attendance.

Duration : 3 months

Description: Conventional attendance systems are time consuming, error

prone and tedious. So we tried to develop a facial recognition system for

automated attendance, which requires minimal user interaction. The

developed face recognition system is then used to identify the face of the

students and update the attendance sheet accordingly.

Eigen faces approach is a principal component analysis method, in which a

small set of characteristic pictures, are used to describe the variation

between face images. A face recognition system, based on the Eigen faces

approach is proposed. Eigen faces approach seems to be an adequate method

to be used in face recognition due to its simplicity, speed, and learning

capability. The face orientation is also considered in this project and

gives very good results.
