Title: A Highly ordered mesoporous TiO2: synthesis, characterization & its energy applications

Brief: The project dealt with The ordered mesoporous TiO2 material developed having great potential for self cleaning and
Li ion battery applications.
Objectives of the project:
Preparation of mesoporous TiO2 by surfactant assisted hydrothermal method using pluronic P123 and cetyltrimethyl
ammonium bromide as surfactants and titanium tetra isoprpoxide as Ti precursors.
Surface modification of mesoporous TiO2 by the addition of Cu(II) ions through impregnation method
The structural and optical characterization of mesoporous TiO2 and Cu2+ mesoporous TiO2 by XRD, and UV DRS.
The morphological analysis of mesoporous TiO2 by Field emission scanning electron microscope (FE SEM). Textural
properties (adsorption isotherm, surface area, pore volume and pore diameter) of mesoporous TiO2 by Brauner
Emmet Teller (BET) analysis.
Carbon coating on mesoporous TiO2 by ex situ polymerization process using sucrose as carbon precursor.
Low & high temperature carbonization of above mentioned samples to achieve uniform carbon coating. Electro
chemical performances and stability of carbon coated M TiO2 evaluated by charge discharge process.
Electro chemical performances of carbon coated mesoporous TiO2 as an anode material at different current rate.
