DESIGN PROJECT
Project Name : Planning, Analysis And Design Of A Blast Resistant
Structure-Parliament.
Client : Madha Engineering College,Kunrathur,Chennai.
Duration : 3 Months
Team Size : 4
Environment : Staad Pro8 and Autocad 2013.
Description
Designing the structures to be fully blast resistant is not a
realistic and economical option, however current engineering and
architectural knowledge can enhance the new and existing buildings to
mitigate the effects of an explosion.
The main objective of the project is to prevent the overall collapse
of the structure during an environmental blast. This can be achieved by
well designing of structural members such as walls,
beams,coloumns,staircase,foundation elements to withstand sufficient load
and quality material for a blast resistant.
The members can be designed by considering various loads like
deadload,liveload,windload,seismic load,blast load(time history load) the
project concludes that after an occurance of blast the servicelibility of
the structure extends so that the humans can be escaped from the structure
before overall collapse of the structure.
PROJECT2 FINAL PROJECT
Project Name : Study on artificial recharge of groundwater using
GIS.
Client : Madha engineering college,kunrathur,chennai.
Duration : 3 months.
Team Size : Individual.
Environment : GIS -ARC map
Description
Growing demands of water in various sectors will lead to extract
water from ground reservoir which leads to decrease in groundwater
recharge,hence artificial recharge techniques has been followed.
Rain water harvesting is one of the method used to recharge
groundwater at a faster rate with less cost and maintainance.the study will
reveal the change in waterlevel before and after the implementation of
rainwater harvesting scheme in chennai city.
This can be done by collecting data on dugwell deails of various
parts of chennai city and analysed through gis -arc map and arc gis
softwares.the study finally concluded that after rainwater harvesting
scheme the level of recharge rate is increased but there is an reduction in
groundwater level this was due to higher extraction rate than recharge rate
hence these issues can be overcomed by encouraging the production of
permeable concrete constructions on roads and necessary treatment should be
given to rivers before undergone recharge techniques.
