3 Key Achievements
• Successfully ported Vehicles Services business requirements from Nissan’s AS400 VPC application
to Distribution and Auto Service’s DAS Plus AS400 application. This allowed DAS to continue
providing high levels of service to Nissan by taking ownership of an application slated for
outsourced offshore support by IBM.
• Designed and supervised development and implementation of vehicle export services.
• Designed and supervised development and implementation of supply chain track and trace.

Main Responsibilities:
• Retained by IBM after Nissan outsourced IT services to IBM. Primary assignment was to maintain
VPC AS400 system operational stability during transition of support from Nissan to IBM offshore
service center. When it became apparent that offshore support could not meet Nissan SLA
objectives I found alternative solutions.
6 Key Achievements
• Designed business strategy to port VPC application to a Nissan subsidiary company responsible for
new vehicle logistics and operations. This strategy was optimistically accepted by both Nissan and
DAS and approved by IBM. Nissan encouraged my participation in this endeavour with significant
cash bonus.

Main Responsibilities:
• Managed a team responsible for the support, maintenance and enhancement of Nissan’s Vehicle
Processing Center (VPC) Port Operations system. Changes include but not limited to
o Y2K compliance
o Enhancements to support routine changes in logistical supply chain and annual model line
changes.
o Introduction and implementation of new logistical programs designed to achieve a 10%
annual reduction in distribution costs.
o Opening of new VPC in Aguascalientes, Mexico
o Closing of several VPC facilities for improved cost management.
o Anticipate and manage risk.
8 Key Achievements
• Prior to my employment by Nissan the AS400 Port Operations system was considered inflexible
and labor intensive. Projects I designed and managed resulted in significantly more stability and
scalability.
7/87 – 4/97 Sr. Systems Specialist County of San Diego CA
Main Responsibilities:
• Application Architect – Introduced client/server technology which leveraged existing AS400
hardware and application portfolios into new development strategies. This resulted in new
applications being delivered more rapidly, with decreased expenses.
• Lead Application Analyst – Designed implemented and supported major application systems using
COBOL and Natural. Effectively managed a team of programmers on several moderate size
projects.

• Directed a focused task force to salvage a major failed multi-million dollar project for the office of
Tax Assessor. The salvage operation I lead and implemented was a huge success and saved the
county significant cost and embarrassment.
