MEDD REPROCESSING: CVS Caremark had 531,236 MEDD claims that needed to be reprocessed because of some

THE CONSISTENCY CHECKER: The system required the plan setup consultants to build the plan and then stage to test,
maintenance and finally production. The drawback with the existing system was that there was no easy way of fixing any
inconsistencies or missing mandatory attributes in the plan setup once the plan was staged to test. Often times making changes to
an existing plan in stages to test phase required more time and resources than to create a new plan. The goal was to minimize the
possibility of failure before the plan was staged to test.

VENDOR TRANSITION: The vendor transition side of the business worked with a lot of data day in and day out and was using a
lot of manual steps along with the existing programming which weren’t updated over a span of years. And all the manual work made
some resources critical to the team and their absence once in a while caused the whole system to panic. The goal was to eliminate
manual processing and bring all the programming up to date with the new enhancements.
