HOBBIES
I enjoy reading in tremendous doses. My choice of readings range from science fiction
and fantasy stories to writings in critical theory. As a consequence, I also write
frequently, usually stories in novelistic or cinematic screenplay form. I have developed a
reasonably large vocabulary and a style of writing that allows me to switch at whim
between florid formality and a more natural and easygoing style.
I am deeply vested in human rights and justice in general, and I spend quite a
reasonable amount of time learning about cases, both historical and contemporary, that
deal with this topic.
Generally, I take enjoyment from acquiring information of any discipline or field. Dozens
of people have jokingly asked me to sign up for game shows like Who Wants To Be A
Millionaire? and Jeopardy. For example, I dedicate much time to film and its study,
enough to be called both a cinephile and cinephage.
