January 2014 to September 2014
2 years 3 months with the same company at 2 locations
Responsible for running the 3rd shift day-to-day operation of a production
floor consisting of 14 production filling lines, with fluctuating
capacities from 25 units/minute to 70 units/minute, depending of product
structure and complexity. 3rd shift fluctuates from 4 to 8 lines; 45 to 90
employees, depending of production schedule. Presently have 7 line
Supervisors and a Production Floor Supervisor. Also responsible for
Mechanics (4), Compounding (2), Warehouse (3) and Building Maintenance (2)
personnel, during the 3rd shift.
(2nd Shift) Production Manager for Cosmetic Essence Innovations, VA June
2012 to Jan 2014
Started as a consultant for 8 months, then converted to permanent position
due to superior performance..
From June 2012 through the end of the peak season, I was the 2nd Shift
Manager for the Assembly Department at the Salem plant. The 2012 the peak
season for the Assembly Dept (July-Sept), had a 10% increase in volume
compared to the previous year, with less labor and time consumed. At the
end of peak season (mid Sept), I was reassigned to the Plantation plant
where I took over as 2nd shift Manager RF Dept. (radio Frequency sealing),
Ceramide Dept. (serum beads assembly lines), Thermal (Plastic tray
forming). I was then reassigned and took over the responsibility for the
day to day operation of the 2nd shift Fill Pack Dept, from April 2013 to
Jan 2nd.
Director of Operations for CHEMAID LAB INC. NJ July
2003 to June 2011
8 years with the same company. Started as production manager and promoted
to Director Position within 6 months, due to excellent performance.
Owner sold company to investment firm, which eventually reorganized the
operations. I was laid off with many other people.
Responsible for the day to day operation of a workforce of over 125
employees, with the assistance of a staff of 3 Managers and 4 Supervisors
over filling area, bulk liquid manufacturing and warehouse
Insure that cGMPs where being followed, and insure maximum level of
quality and safety was maintained. Review and update SOP's as well as
writing new SOPs and Work Instructions.
Under my leadership, the company grew from about 60 employees - one shift,
to more than 130 employees - two shifts, and attaining the company's
largest gross sales, recorded during 2010.
The warehouse went from no location system and only floor locations by
customers (about 1,900 pallets), to a fully computerized WMS system, with
over 10,000 pallet locations.
Production Manager for INTERCOS, AMERICA, NY November
2000 to July 2003
Responsible for day-to-day Planning and coordination of the Manufacturing
and Production Departments, while insuring on time delivery of high quality
finish goods. This assignment was a startup. Intercos America was
originally a joint venture with CEI-Ridgefield. They parted ways from CEI
and open their own operation on Nov/2000.
They hired me to help develop and maintain the new facility, which started
with about 20 employees. The company continued its growth which by my
departure, grew to nearly 125 employees / two shifts operation.
12/83 to 11/2000: PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR FOR FRAGRANCES, CHANEL, INC.
. 1983 to 1997: Production Manager for Chanel's Puerto Rico plant.
. 1997 to 1998: Supervisor for Pick Pack at Chanel's Piscataway NJ plant,
supervising 15 to 20 pickers on a semi automatic RF pick pack line.
. 1998 to 2000: Production Supervisor at Chanel's Piscataway NJ plant
with 40 t0 60 line workers.
