With 30 + years of experience as a Plant/Production Manager/Supervisor within
manufacturing and production of fiberglass, extrusion, specialty glass and quality
engineer in automotive. Thorough knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 6S, ISO 9001
and 14001 implementation and auditing, windows 2010 operating systems, process
flow and mapping. The gap from 2012 to 2013 in employment I went back to college
and finished my degree in Industrial management.

procedures effective analytical, problem solving and team building skills.

Quality Resident Engineer May 2013 – May 2014 Noonan Group
Quality Resident Engineer for Magna Exteriors and Interiors on site at BMW in
Greenville, SC. Liaison between BMW and Magna on the assembly line helping to
control the quality of parts that are produced at MEI. Relaying real time information
back to MEI over all issues with parts so that adjustments can be made as needed to
maintain top quality for all headliners, pillars, IP and all other parts supplied by MEI
to BMW Plant 10.
Production Supervisor August 2011 – October 2012 Cooley Group, LLC
Production Supervisor over two extrusion lines and the packaging of produced
materials.. Guided and mentored the seventeen hourly associated that produced,
packaged and shipped the billboard, roofing, automotive insulation, pond liner and
tent material. Given the task of writing the Basic Job Analysis and Work Instructions
for each of the production positions within Cooley at the Lancaster Plant.
Interviewed and hired a complete crew for D shift, as the plant was ramping up to 4
crews, 12 hour shifts, 7 days a week. Implemented the use of Fastenal vending
machines for operating supplies and daily use items to aid in the cost reduction of
operating supplies and help control the budget. Worked through the process of
assisting Cooley to become ISO 9001 certified and in the process trained and
complete the requirements to become certified as an ISO 9001 auditor.
Plant Manager May 2008 – July 2011 Industrial Glass Technologies
Managed the employees, production and efficiency, to ensure the plant was running
smoothly, quickly, efficiently and safely, while producing specialty glass for the
medical field, entertainment, electronic and housing industries. General supervision
of all phases of plant operations including: production, quality control, maintenance,
receiving, and shipping. Responsibilities also include recruiting, hiring and training
personnel and facility/physical plant up-keep and capital improvements. Worked
closely with the production team to increase productivity and profitability.
Senior Engineer Technician February 1978 – May 2008 (retired) PPG, Industries
PPG Industries, Started at the bottom as a Forming Operator in Feb. 1978. Transferred
to Batch Control Technician operating the computer system for the mixing the raw
materials for the furnaces. Took a military leave of absence from 1982 – 1986 joined
the US Army, upon returning took the assessment center to become a Group Leader
in the Forming Department over 8 small fiberglass furnaces and 48 employees. In
1988 was promoted to Salary and assigned to two Double Level furnaces supervising
120 plus employees. In 1990, Moved to the position of the Single Level Production
Technician in charge of all aspects of the production from the furnace to the
customer. 1991 promoted Senior Production Engineer Technician of the Dry and Wet
Chop Product lines. Managed the process, quality, equipment, and scheduling of
product changes and maintenance. Maintained quality assurance checks and
certifications for fiberglass in the shingle and extrusion market. Controlling the cost
of raw materials, production and shipping of all finished goods to the customer. Over
the next 15 years assisted in the building, rebuilding, start-up of fiberglass plants and
furnaces in the US and worldwide.
