Professional Experience
**/** – 4/14 Sunpreme Jia Xing, China & Sunnyvale, CA
Process/Hardware Engineering Intern
Performed preventive maintenance care on equipment to maximize the efficiency of the
manufacturing process and increase the quality of the final product.
Improved manufacturing process by testing iterations of different gas flow rates, duration time,
temperature changes, etc. and wrote reports to document changes and results.
Analyzed and interpreted end product data (Isc, Voc, fill factor, etc.) to determine areas in the
process that required improvement.
Managed the replacement and maintenance of manufacturing equipment to stay updated with
new technology.
Researched different supply companies to find the most suitable and efficient parts for
equipment that stayed within budget constraints.
Trained by senior engineers to learn about the manufacturing process including: wet process
(texture, clean, and corner rounding), Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD), Physical Vapor
Deposition (PVD), printing, and how every process affects the solar cell.
R&D Assistant (Sub-owner of PVD)
Discovered new ways of improving our bi-facial cells along with 3 senior engineers in the
R&D lab by finding new targets for the PVD process.
Trained to operate CVD, PVD, and printing and diagnosed/helped repair many hardware issues
with tools.
Ran tests to determine overall performance of cell and determined areas that could be
improved.
Find ways to integrate new technology from R&D lab to be used in manufacturing FAB.
Calibrated machines weekly to optimize performance.
Relevant Experience
03/11 – 06/13 Material Science Engineering Research Irvine, CA
