• Maintain systems which identify medical staff members, clinical privileges, managed contracts,
quality data, licensure, malpractice insurance, education, training, and other demographic
information.
• Participate in and support corporate, administrative, clinical and medical staff committees.
• Oversee the daily operations of the Medical Staff Services Department including supervision of
management staff, project/medical staff/allied health/faculty affairs/payment specialists, and
secretarial/clerical staff.
• Direct responsibility for compliance of all Joint Commission elements of performance for the
medical staff standards, including credentialing, privileging, criteria for securing privileges,
focused and ongoing professional practice evaluation, licensure, education, training, board, and
current competency requirements.
• Direct responsibility for maintenance of all personal services agreements for physicians holding
paid leadership positions, taking emergency room call, and/or participating in committee
meetings.
• Responsible for the creation, maintenance, and distribution of specialty emergency department
and transfer center call schedules.
• Participate in root cause analysis sessions for all sentinel events.
• Maintain Stark log for entire system in accordance with federal requirements.
• Responsible for the management of the Office of Faculty Affairs in conjunction with the Weill
Medical College affiliation. Prepare faculty dossiers for appointment, reappointment, and tenure
actions.
