Managed chaplain function at Department of Defense Port Mortuary receiving remains of fallen service

members from Iraq and Afghanistan. Directed staff of 13 officer, enlisted and civilian to conduct 600

flawless dignified transfer events and provide spiritual support and comfort to over 3,600 family

members. Created first-ever operating instructions to meet requirements for Secretary of Defense

Policies on returning human remains from war zone.

• Handpicked by Air Force Chief of Chaplains to serve as first permanently

assigned chaplain manager to organize the Chaplain Branch at sole military mortuary located in

continental U.S.

• Directed chaplain support for President’s lead at dignified transfer of 30

Special Operations fatalities resulting from attack on Army CH-47 helicopter in Afghanistan

• Successfully wrote agreement to integrate five U.S. Army and U.S. Navy

chaplain personnel to meet Service Secretaries’ requirements to honor their fallen members and their

families
