worship and ministries including Airman Ministry Center coffee house. Created annual strategic action

plan establishing goals and objectives for providing religious programs to base of 4,000 Airmen plus

families. Organized and directed training plan to ensure staff maintained qualifications for spiritual care

and war time operations.

• Managed annual budgets averaging $300,000 during federal sequestration

reductions, saved 3 critical contractor positions in spite of 20% loss of funding

• Created 5 retreat events for couples and single Airmen to develop

• Reorganized young adult outreach program to enhance spiritual growth,

average weekly attendance increased from 5 to 50 over 8 month period

• Created new Contemporary style worship service which grew from 43 to

Senior Chaplain, Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations Jun 2010 - Jun 2012

Managed chaplain function at Department of Defense Port Mortuary receiving remains of fallen service

members from Iraq and Afghanistan. Directed staff of 13 officer, enlisted and civilian to conduct 600

flawless dignified transfer events and provide spiritual support and comfort to over 3,600 family

members. Created first-ever operating instructions to meet requirements for Secretary of Defense

Policies on returning human remains from war zone.

• Handpicked by Air Force Chief of Chaplains to serve as first permanently

assigned chaplain manager to organize the Chaplain Branch at sole military mortuary located in

continental U.S.

• Directed chaplain support for President’s lead at dignified transfer of 30

Special Operations fatalities resulting from attack on Army CH-47 helicopter in Afghanistan

• Successfully wrote agreement to integrate five U.S. Army and U.S. Navy

chaplain personnel to meet Service Secretaries’ requirements to honor their fallen members and their

families

• Chaplain Staff awarded Outstanding Performance recognition for first-ever

Inspector General performance evaluation of mortuary and chaplain services
