Professional Carl Ziess, Inc. Troy, Michigan
Experience Supervisor for Teflon Laboratory September 2000 -
Present
Supervises and coordinates daily production operations for the Teflon Laboratory. Establish a
record for providing timely and superior services to Carl Ziess’ auxiliary laboratories and groups.
Effectively coordinated engineering and cross-functional resources which translated into an
increase in productivity with substantial reduction in production times.
• Carried out the organization of processes for hard coat lenses within the Teflon
Laboratory
• Training employees for visual detect lens defects (correct vision to 20:20)
• Perform duties in all three lab areas (Coating Center I and II, Pre-inspection and Teflon
Lab), with high degree of efficiency, reliability, and accuracy.
• Managed department staff to ensure proper facilities maintenance and material
management activity is effectively organized and executed using LEAN principles
• Led the safety and housekeeping processes and take steps to ensure site practices
reflect the philosophies of total safety management. Ensured that all standards, policies,
SOPs and procedures are adhered to in compliance with corporate, federal, state, and local
requirements.
• Developed and continuously improved the process by which materials are received,
stored and distributed through-out the laboratory
• Works with the Manufacturing Manager to develop efficiency concepts for formulation
processes
• Responsible for laboratory schedule and hours of operation. As production require
organize and track overtime hours.
• Conducted analysis of field operating procedures for use in the development and
implementation of “best practices” for field operating procedures
• Supported the Operations Team with administrative functions including spreadsheets,
presentations and other correspondences
• Actively participated in project teams from the concept stage through production
• Worked closely with internal and external manufacturing operations to develop products
that are realistically manufactural and cost effective.
• Prepared and tested chemical solutions used for striping and coating of optical lenses.
Major Accomplishments
Record and monitor Teflon Hard Coat Production. Recorded history of 6 years is helping us to
predict and prepare the production for every quarter.
Through the creation of the Dip process chart techniques to find first yield greatly enhanced
our ability to identify wash line maintenance which resulted in the improvement in production
Created a procedure for the clear poly carbonate lenses that are Teflon hard coated through
the strip and dip process. Utilizing this procedure helped reduce the number of failures,
standardized the work procedure throughout the entire lab workforce and increased
laboratory efficiency
Created tables and documentations (Operator Action Yield, Sequence of Operation, Operator
Action Time, Daily Maintenance on Foundation, Daily Rewashes, Teflon Inventory,
Temperature and Humidity Recording, and COATING Process Controls) that helped in
organizing, maintenance and monitor the production process.
MERMER COM Prilep, Republic of
Macedonia
Geologist July, 1995 – August, 1997
Support the ongoing development and reservoir description efforts for the Mermer Com. Maintain
and improve the geologic understanding of the Mermer Com, identify additional reserves, and
improve recovery from a challenging reservoir. Work on geological mapping, reservoir
description, identification of development drilling and work over/recompletion opportunities, well
site geo-steering support, and reserve determinations.
• Performed routine analyses using chemical, instrumental and microscopic methods of
analyses on samples taken from the marble excavation sites.
• Improved Quality Control volume of work done on a timely basis, thereby significantly
increasing productivity from 80% to 85% for first passed yield products.
• Performed preparation and standardization of titration solutions for chemical analyses.
• Worked with analytical personnel to improve or revise analytical procedures.
• Evaluated returned materials and customer complaints that questioned product quality.
• Trained temporary personnel.
