PROJECT EXPERIENCE

FDOT District Seven, Hillsborough County, Robert Swain, 813-***-****, 1/10/2010 to 12/15/2012.

This project includes the design and deployment of new Naztec Nema Type II traffic signal cabinets with

ATMS. Now software, UPS, ITS components, Sensys traffic counting and monitor systems. The work

consists of a fiber-optic communications network, infrastructure upgrades, and ITS devices installed

along SR 60, Bloomingdale Blvd., Waters Ave., Linebaugh Ave, Sheldon Rd., Bearss Ave., Fletcher Ave., US

301, Providence Blvd and others. The overall system will tie into the existing Hillsborough County traffic

management center (TMC). Responsibilities include overseeing day to day construction activities, working

with multiple crews on multiple corridors, enforcing MOT, OSHA and safety requirements, observing and

documenting work habits and enforcing the contract, plans, FDOT Specifications and Standard Index.

Other responsibilities include acting as liaison for the County with the public, enforcing permit compliance

and data collection such as but not limited to; controller cabinet inspection, grounding as-built logs, Sensys

repeater and access point collection logs as well as compiling issue logs and completing daily work reports

for the County that include all pertinent construction information.

FDOT District One, Lee County, Michael R. Ryan, 239-***-****, 04/2010 to 09/2011.

This project includes the design-build incident management system (IMS) for the Edison and Caloosahatchee

bridges in Lee County, which will provide detour information for motorists on US 41/Business 41. Proper

installation of all communications and field devices, and the system’s integration into Lee County’s signal

operations center and emergency operations center, will be necessary to allow the IMS to be properly managed.

Full installation of the system will include approximately 16 HAR stations, nine DMS, 37 dynamic trailblazers,

nine CCTV cameras, 17 vehicle detection stations, road weather information stations (RWIS), and fiber and

wireless communications.

FDOT District One, Sarasota County, Michael Jordan, 941-***-****, 09/2009 to 10/2012.

As system Manager for this countywide advanced traffic management system (ATMS) project, Atkins provided

CEI services for the deployment of 68 miles of fiber optic cable, eight network hubs, upgrading 123 intersections

from PEEK to Naztec equipment, and adding 70 CCTV cameras.

FDOT District One, Sarasota County, Robbin L. Levar, PM, 941-***-****, 03/2011 to 08/2012.

This Phase II of a 3 phase project provides cabinet and controller upgrades at 31 intersections along seven

corridors and crossing multiple jurisdictional maintaining agencies. Mr. George is serving as a ITS Inspector &

system integration aid with responsibilities including cabinet inspection, coordination of preemption system and

lighted street signs. Mr. George has also been responsible for timing programming updates in the Naztec

controllers.

City of Chattanooga, Chattanooga Regional Intelligent Transportation System Phase I Equipment

Installation Construction Engineering and Inspection Services, Chattanooga, TN. The Chattanooga

traffic signal Phase I upgrade project is part of the planned regional ITS enhancements that cover

Chattanooga, other municipalities in Hamilton County, and unincorporated Hamilton County. This

regional plan was inspired by the dramatic growth of Chattanooga’s metropolitan area. This project

includes wireless vehicle detection and wireless modems to access the City’s network. Phase I is the first

project in Tennessee to initiate an adaptive traffic control system. Along Highway 153, the City is

installing devices and software to provide real-time solutions that will more effectively and efficiently

manage traffic along this corridor. Atkins provides the City with ITS construction management and

inspection, and is responsible for providing in-depth construction inspection, overseeing testing and

configuration of all system components, providing technical oversight, and ensuring that the contractor

delivered all requirements of Phase I. Atkins is also responsible for all CMAQ and TDOT

documentation requirements. Employee Role: As CEI, Mr. George gathers information from numerous

Pinellas County, East Bay Drive Advanced Traffic Management System Construction Engineering

and Inspection Services, Largo, FL. Phase 1 Countywide ATMS/ITS Installation – SR 686 from Gulf

Blvd (CR699) to Airport Parkway. Employee Role: As senior Inspector, Mr. George is responsible for

work that consists of installation of ITS/ATMS devices along SR 686 including Closed Circuit

Television (CCTV) camera assemblies, dynamic message signs (DMS) assemblies, advance vehicle

detection, video detection, fiber optic cables, cabinets, conduit, pull boxes, and all other equipment for a

FDOT District Seven I-75/SR 93A from MANATEE/HILLSBOROUGH CO/L TO

PROGESS/BLOOMINGDALE 0756 ITS FREEWAY MANAGEMENT, Mr. George is the
