Steelcase, New Haven, CT Sustainability Analyst,

2013-2014

. Analyzed and quantified the environmental impact of international supply

chain by performing a cradle-to-gate life cycle analysis using SimaPro

modeling software.

. Researched the wood veneer manufacturing process and coordinated with

teams across the company (marketing, sustainability, operations, etc) and

around the world (US, France, and Italy) to gather relevant data.

Additional research used for developing assumptions to fill process gaps.

. Drafted and presented report outlining findings and final

recommendations. Information presented to Sustainability Director and

other interested stakeholeders.

BlackStartup, New Haven, CT Founder, 2012-2014

. Launched first crowdfunding site dedicated to projects and ideas that

have a positive impact on the African American community. Selected as 2013

Fellow of the Yale University Entrepreneurial Institute.

. Coordinated fundraising initiatives for entrepreneurs and community

organizations raising over $50,000.

. Responsible for development and management of online business incubator.

Incubator provided information on the regulatory landscape of crowdfunding

and helped 24 fledgling enterprises navigate the business creation

process.

Bigelow Tea, Fairfield, CT Consultant, 2012-

2013

. Completed a triple bottom line analysis of pending development and

provided suggestions to guide allocation of $1.6 million budget.

. Performed development scenario analysis comparing the environmental

impact of building materials to determine the most sustainable options.

Employed cradle-to-grave life cycle analysis of building materials to aid

comparison.

. Reviewed plant energy efficiency strategies with facility management and

identified cost-saving energy efficiency measures of $110k. Strategy also

crafted to assist in the attainment of LEED certification for existing

buildings. Results were presented to CEO.

. Developed consistent methodology the help units across the business

understand the legal implications of their activity. Web-based tool

. Created excel tool to track the flow of waste materials, direct materials

to the most appropriate end-of-life destination, provide suggestions for

reuse based on inventory, and model economic activity in the system. Tool

projected waste reduction of 50% by 2025.

. Formulated end-of-life scenarios for waste materials detailing economic

impacts of each scenario throughout the region, ROI for facility

development and opportunities for reintegration.

. Lead project creation, implementation, and managed team of comprised of 5

staff members and community volunteers

Creyahtion Green Recycling, Atlanta, GA Founder, 2006-2009

. Community based program focused on introducing recycling and the

environment to underserved communities throughout the region.

. Planned and organized energy efficiency program affecting over 2,700

homes. Project lead to a 40% decrease in energy usage and $3.25 decrease

in energy costs for participants.

. Established partnerships with local schools, businesses and community

organizations. This effort led to the introduction of 4 community gardens,

6 recycling initiatives and the development of community beautification

projects across the city.

. Created environmental education curriculum for students throughout the

metro Atlanta area.

Coordinated six after school programs that worked with over 100 students

and 40 volunteers. Exceeded original goal of establishing four after school

programs over the course of 2 years.

. Chair of Grade Level Science Departments (6th and 8th). Responsible for

the creation of grade level lesson plans and faculty content training.
