Helpdesk/Operations Technician (Multiple Shifts)

Job Description: The Helpdesk/Operations Technician provides support to end users on a variety of issues and identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Works with IT and management to proactively identify and implement IT solutions in pursuit of business objectives.. The technician responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support and documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the computer field. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance. The position requires troubleshooting, maintenance, and documentation of computers, components and peripheral equipment related to end users of the organization. The technician must be able to work independently to prioritize and complete ad-hoc and assigned support calls. Focus is on customer service skills. This position requires someone who is friendly, outgoing and is capable of working on their own with little supervision. Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to produce a high level of excellence are key qualities.

Additionally this position requires occasional independent judgment and participation in helpdesk planning and design for various projects. The technician is expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities as necessary to keep abreast of changing technology.

MS Windows OS, (XP, 7), UNIX, VMS, MS Office Suite and Outlook, GroupWise, VNC (Virtual Network Computing), Track-It! ticketing system, Active Directory (AD), TCP/IP, Crystal Reports, Tivoli Backup, HIPAA, FileZilla (FTP), Novell, Adobe Reader, etc..
