• Traveled to Target Corporation, Headquarters in Minneapolis, MN to get
extensive training with the Target technical design team for the following
kids, junior, and plus size brands: Circo, Cherokee, Xhilaration, Mossimo
and Mossimo Supply Co.
• Create technical flat sketches upholding customer’s requirements and
standards using CAD: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Ensure production upholds customer’s construction standards. Accurately
measure factory samples point by point and thoroughly check fit, trims,
construction, and artwork. Check 1st trim samples as well as graded size
trims to ensure factories are cutting correct patterns and to ensure all sizes
have a consistent expression of fit in production. Communicate fit and trim
comments to factories including detailed photos of corrections.
• Assist in developing 1st prototype samples in a timely manner to send to
the customer for approval by the given deadline as well as create POMS,
input technical sketches, BOMs, sewing construction, label placement
sketches, and prototype PowerPoint presentations into Target’s Flex PLM
system.
• Attend fittings, collaborate with designers to achieve a perfect fit while still
upholding customer’s requirements and standards. Take detailed notes of
necessary corrections and changes. Partner with patternmakers and discuss
pattern corrections and changes, regularly following up to ensure prototype
due date is met.
Assist in submitting graded size set samples (S-L for juniors), (XS-XL for
•
kids), and (1X-2X for plus size) to the customer for graded size approval.
Duties include: Update POMs and specs if necessary, Spec samples, create
PowerPoint presentations of graded size sets, create measurement
suggestion sheets on Excel showing finalized full graded specs, vendor
grading suggestions, and make sure artwork, trims, as well as design
details (Ex: Patch pockets) are proportional to each size.
• Process cost requests, assign style numbers, create 1st pattern cards,
productions pattern cards, and ensure sketches, material sheets and spec
sheets are always up to date.
• Prepare and send pattern and sew-by releases to factories for all
patternmakers.
• Communicate with overseas partners to answer any questions regarding
production.
