great deal too.

Camp Counselor and Lifeguard

Camp Pee Dee - Bennettsville, SC - June 2013 to August 2013

Responsibilities

I was a life guard at Camp Pee Dee, as well as, a counselor. My lifeguard duties consisted of my previous

responsibilities with the exception of the Camp lake. I got all the required certification for life guarding on

waterfront. I life guarded Monday through Friday when necessary. I counseled little and middle school girls. My

duties as a Counselor were to make all the girls feel comfortable and have fun, but maintain a good balance. I

took them from different activities and made sure they were on schedule. Being at Camp Pee Dee last summer

really helped me become a better person. It is such a beautiful place to work.

Accomplishments

Working at Camp Pee Dee was not only a job, but a privilege for me. It truly changed me as a person. It shaped

me into the young woman I am today and I will forever be grateful of that. I loved working with all the children

and seeing their faces light up when we did different activities. It was a real joy!

Skills Used

Some skills I used while working at Camp Pee Dee were to be fun, but also know when it is time to be serious.

Just like life guarding I think you have to have a level of maturity and responsibility to be a camp counselor

because waking the kids up on time and getting them to their scheduled activities is very important.

Lifeguard

City of Bennettsville - Bennettsville, SC - June 2012 to August 2012

Responsibilities

My lifeguard duties included working around and with children. Being very alert and making sure all

and first-aid. Cleaning your area of work was mandatory, as well as, putting everything out that was needed

for that work day.

Accomplishments

It was July 4, 2012, after my first shift was over my friends and I went down to the boat landing to finish out

the day. We were laughing and having fun when we noticed everyone swimming over to the dock. My friends

had went through the lifeguard training as well. We all looked at each other and our faces got pretty serious.

We swam out to the person and began to perform our new skills. We saved the young man and he was very

thankful. This event impacted me because I helped someone.

Skills Used

I demonstrated CPR at this job, as well as, first-aid. I think there is a certain level of maturity and responsibility

you have to possess to be a lifeguard. You have to be very alert and watching carefully all the time.

A normal day for me at Marlboro Electric Co-op was fairly easy. I sorted out papers and filed them as well.

I logged in files on the computer and I was in charge of putting together a large quantity of manuals for the

employees.

Accomplishments

An impact I had during this time was that this was my first job. I was very proud of myself for getting the hired

position. My grandfather served on the board at Marlboro Electric for many years and after his passing my

Uncle, Jeff Quick took his position. So I was ecstatic to be another family member serving Marlboro Electric.

Skills Used

I demonstrated a few skills at this job. I kept my work area very organized and neat. No one likes a messy

co-worker. It is important to be organized so you can stay on top of everything. Also, I demonstrated great

computer skills. I am fairly familiar with computers and programs such as, Microsoft Word and Excel. Lastly,

I am easy to work with and work great with other people. I think that is important as well because work is

stressful enough and working with difficult people should not have to be a job.
