My current assignment as Enterprise Change and Release Manager
Summary and for all of the state of Maryland Judiciary Information Systems
Introduction: is my seventh (7th) operation of creating and implementing ITIL
based transition management processes. I will also build the
Configuration and Environment Management processes, policies,
and procedures.
Prior to this, I built the Change Management Process at Maersk
Line IT, where I also assisted with the Incident Management
process and workflow and coordinating with the Change Management
process. All processes builds were in coordination with the
corporate change management policy.
For 15 years, I have been in the roles of
Change/Configuration/Release/Environment Manager on both
distributed platform and centralized platform in commercial and
investment banking, energy, defence, and transportation
industries. I have worked with ITIL and CMMI concepts to
develop processes that are Service oriented, and work within
both SCRUM and waterfall project management philosophies. This
is a true challenge, but is possible.
I have the experience and knowledge in establishing new
processes and new methods of working which includes Change,
Configuration, and Release processes. I know the ITIL best
practices and CMMI models, but prefer to use ITIL as it is a
little more specific as to best practices. I also know the ISO
standards for Change/Release/Configuration ISO 9001, 10007, and
20000.
I also have experience of Environment Management. It is
critical to the overall success of Release Management that
monitoring, coordinating, auditing, and refreshment, were kept
current. I compiled cost analysis on all environments to
determine efficiency and for budgeting. This included both the
hardware, software, and time in applications.
I have create KPIs, to demonstrate quality assurance
Release and risk are very closely related, therefore my
knowledge is well versed..
Detailed planning and coordinated activities across the globe
from Spain, Pakistan, China, Germany, to the US, has given me an
exception view and understanding into knowing the cultural
differences, work ethics, and how to improve the efficiency when
dealing with 3rd party venders. I have worked in Dutch, German,
Norwegian and Danish environments.
My experience includes mainframe platforms as well as
distributed platform. I was certified as a UNIX (Solaris8)
system administrator, and have worked with several versions of
windows, both for client and servers.
I have certifications for ITIL, Configuration Management, IBM
Administrator, ClearCase expert, COBOL, and I am a Registered
Professional Geologist and Military Engineer.
For an overview of my Professional Competences, please review
the last page.
Personal My personal values are honor, loyalty, and trust, and my
resume: personal philosophies are, "Carpe Diem" (to seize the day, to
make decisions without regret), and "What gets Checked, gets
Done". Responsibility means to trust, and then to verify. I
believe in taking responsibility without question, and to
achieve results. I believe in direct communications so as to
avoid miscommunications. I believe that communications need to
honest, without "exaggerations", to both higher and lower
echelons. Good decisions cannot be based on half truths or good
intentions. I also believe in the bottom line, RESULTS.
I do not engage in office politics as this is against my beliefs
of honor.
In the near term, I will take my certification exam for ITIL
EXPERT. I believe in being current, and have been studying
Business Intelligence and SAP modules. I believe in being
flexible and keep an open mind to new and different approaches
to solutions, always willing to learn, and always prepared for
challenges.
I have authored 2 articles in Engineer Magazine (1989, 1995 ).
I would like to write a novel if I can ever find the time to sit
still.
I have lived in Danmark since 2003, and my family is very
important to me, I was a board member of the Hvidovre Sk jteklub
where my 2 daughters skated competitively. When I have free
time, I enjoy programming and travelling, especially by auto as
I love driving. I am a medieval history buff and enjoy analyzing
historical strategic/tactical simulations. For sports, I play
tennis, and like sports that require thinking, like chess,
baseball, and hockey. I play to win as that is the reason to
participate, unless it is my children, they always win as
winning is the #1 confidence builder. It is important to build
a winning attitude and confidence, in order to achieve success.
I also enjoy Table Tennis, Bowling, volleyball, go-carting and
just about any other sport. I am always willing to try
something at least once.
