BACKGROUND
A Ph.D. electrical engineer with experience in high voltage engineering as
related to high voltage dielectric design, power equipment and cable
diagnostics (PD detection, TDR, etc.), application of HVDC cable, medical
diagnostics (CT scanners), electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), transient
phenomena in high voltage systems, etc. Experience applying COMSOL and
ANSYS finite element software, MatLab, Maple, MathCad, etc. to engineering
tasks.

High Voltage Design Lead
. Developed hardware requirements and specifications of 140kV x-ray
tube, High voltage generator (120kW, 140kV), remote power distribution
unit (PDU, 180 kW) and interconnecting cables for CT scanner.
. Developed verification testing methods for hardware (HV Cables,
HV x-ray tube, High voltage generator, remote power
distribution, DC power supplies) and conducted system
verification tests;
. Developed power chain and cabling system for CT scanner (power
distribution, cable design, interfaces, protection and
connections) and system PE layout to meet NEC, IEC, EN, UL, CSA
and GB specifications.
. Designed HVDC cable for cost reduction ($0.5 million
saving/year) and EMC reliability with Lean six-sigma tools.
. Developed test methodology and automation test tools and
software programs for verification testing, bench testing, and
manufacture testing by using LABVIEW software.
. Developed "EMC/EMI design guidelines and testing methods for CT
scanners" (criteria of high frequency field, shielding,
protection, grounding and cable routing/cross talk).
. Developed "CT scanner gantry grounding system against EMI and
its good engineering practice guidelines".
. Increased the reliability of CT scanner system against HV
anomaly (transient voltage and arcs in x-ray tube) through
transmission line model simulation with analytical tools
(Pspice, ATP-EMTP, LT spice, Matlab, Labview).
. Conducted EMC/EMI troubleshooting and problem mitigation with
spectrum analyzer, high speed oscilloscopes, TDR and magnetic
and electric field probes.
. Leaded in driving design for EMI/EMC processes and best
practices throughout the company.
. Conducted EMC pre-compliance tests on CT scanners to meet EMC
specifications, EN 55011 (CISPR 11), EN61000, IEC 60601, IEC61000.
