SEMINAR : Drag reduction of ships using microbubble technology.

Drag, similar to friction, opposes the motion of a solid object moving

in a fluid. In ships drag is a serious problem since it results in large

amount of fuel consumption. Microbubbles technology uses microbubbles,

small air bubbles, which can be injected into the turbulent boundary layer

of the ship's bottom hull surface, as a result of which drag gets reduced.

PROJECT WORK : CFD analysis of tube in tube helical coil heat exchanger

Helically coiled tubes are superior to straight tubes when employed in

heat transfer applications. This

project work is intended to have a comprehensive study on flow and heat

transfer through helical tubes. Numerical model is used to conduct

parametric study varying the helix angle, inner tube diameter and cross

sectional shape of tubes. Generation of correlation for dimensionless

numbers (Nusselt, Reynolds and Prandtl number) will be done.
