Circuits.

WORK EXPERIENCE

. Graduate Assistant Pennsylvania State University

Fall 2013-Present

- Graduate Peer Tutor for Math, Physics and EE courses at the Learning

Center.

- Grading and Lab assistant in the EE department

. Summer Automation Intern Voith Hydro, PA

Summer 2013

- Programming SEL relays for trips and alarms, and generator excitation

control.

- Analyzing wiring schematics and connections during Factory Testing.

- Relay Communication to PLC through MODBUS.

. Summer Intern L&T, India

Summer

2011

- Analyzed current density, contact resistance, temperature rise of entire

range of Switch Disconnector Fuses for the entire product range.

SOFTWARES AND TECHNOLOGIES

Power World, ETAP, MATLAB, C, C++, Java, RS Logix, MS OFFICE, Mathematica,

GridLAB-D, JADE,

ADDITIONAL TRAINING

. Basic Embedded Systems, THINK LABS, JUNE 2012 : Worked on ATMEGA 128

microcontroller using EMBEDDED C. Explored controller specific features

like: timers, interrupts, SPI based multi-board communication,

configuring and controlling I/O ports and ADC based applications.

. Basic Cource AC/DC Drives, Siemens, India, JUNE 2010: Studied the

hardware and basic functioning of AC/DC drives. Gained hands-on

experience on SIMOREGTM 6RA70 (DC Drive) and MICRO MASTER 440 (AC

Drive).

ACADEMIC PROJECTS

. Decentralized Load Control of a Micro-grid using IEC 61499 (2013-

present): A decentralized control of loads in a micro-grid based network

with a VSC based DG. The control is implemented using IEC 61499 which is

based on the concept of Function Blocks.

. Simulation Of a Micro-grid With DERs Using GridLAB-D (2013): A micro

grid including solar energy simulated using GridLAB-D. The effect of

static and dynamic loads were observed on bus voltages.

. Power System Stabilizer using Sliding Mode Control (2013): Designed

a PSS using Sliding Mode Control for

an AGC-AVR controlled generator system in Simulink that improved the

transient response of the system.

. Analysis of generator dynamics during transients (2013): Analyzed the

load angle and speed response by developing a MATLAB model to solve the

swing equation for short term transients.

. Analysis of AGC-AVR system of a generating unit with PID control (2013):

Observed the effect of an AGC-AVR system of a generating unit with PID

control. The PID gains were tuned for optimal performance.

. Photovoltaic (PV) based Water Pumping System (2011-2012): Designed and

developed a photovoltaic based water pumping system. Hardware setup was

consistent with simulations showed on MATLAB.

PAPERS PRESENTED:

. Performance analysis of PLC using OFDM under different modulation

schemes January 2014

A paper on performance of Power line communication using OFDM using various

modulation schemes. Presented during the ICCE, 2014.

ORGANIZATION

. Member of the organizing committee of national Technical Festival in

India.

. Member of Penn State mentorship program as a mentor to incoming

international students
