PROJECT TITLE:

Masonry structure resistant to earthquake

DESCRIPTION:

The project includes study of masonry building with and without horizontal

bands under seismic loads. Along with analysis, design and seismic

responses strength, stability and economy parameters are to be considered in

the project.

Horizontal bands are the most important earthquake-resistant feature in

masonry buildings. It is mainly used in masonry structures being

constructed in areas where RC structures are not so popular such as remote

places, villages etc. Increasing number of seismic hazards bring our

attention to use such techniques to reduce loss of life and property during

earthquake disasters.
