Dear Sir or Madam;
I am a graduate of the Veterinary Technology Program at Harrison College Northwest in
Indianapolis, Indiana. I have had several years of experience, not only with small animals but
also with large animals and I believe that I would make an excellent member of your animal care
team as a Veterinary Assistant. I am planning on taking my state boards in the next few months
to become an RVT.
Enclosed is my resume which displays my experience with various types of animals. In the past
I have worked with beef cattle, feeding and watering, cleaning out barns, and helping move the
cattle into trucks for slaughter. I have also had the opportunity to care for piglets during the first
few weeks of life, as well as caring for the sow. I had to make sure they were getting the
appropriate nutrition and to monitor the sow so she would not reject or smother the piglets. I also
have experience with equine. I did a three month externship with a large animal veterinarian
specializing in equine reproduction, including artificial insemination and uterine ultrasounds.
The classroom education and hands-on experience that I have acquired from Harrison College,
my externship, and my most recent employment at St. Francis Animal Health Care and Binford
Pet Wellness Clinic has allowed me to develop the skills necessary to become a successful
member of your animal care team. I feel that I have the confidence and knowledge needed to
work at your facility. In time, I hope to gain even more experience and become a valuable
member of your team.
I am available Monday through Sunday, and I would be happy to meet with you to discuss the
possibilities that I could bring to your facility. Please contact me by phone 812-***-**** or via
email *****.*******@*****.*** at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Erica Marks
