• Provided technical support to the roadway design lead for the first phase of 20 year, project to improve freeway capacity in downtown Las Vegas.

• Worked on design of a flyover structure and coordination with Structural and Drainage disciplines.

• Responsible for Horizontal and Vertical alignments of multiple ramps using AASHTO and NDOT design manuals.

• Developed cross sections throughout the mainline and ramp alignments and assisted in the

preparation of corresponding plan sets.

Design Engineer; I 15 North Design Build Project; Nevada Department of Transportation;

Las Vegas, Nevada; 2007 to 2008. ($250 Million)

• Provided technical support to the roadway design lead for this project to improve a heavily congested portion of I 15 from US 95 to Craig Road.

• Responsible for geometric design of the project including alignment reconfigurations, estimation of quantities, plan and profile generation and various coordination efforts involved with other disciplines.

• Participated in the design of 11 new bridges and 2 bridge widenings; 10,000 LF of retaining walls; 15,000 LF of soundwalls and preparation of the corresponding plan sets.

• Project scope included the design and construction of new freeway ramps; the addition of through and auxiliary lanes; new construction or rehabilitation of soundwalls and retaining walls; project wide paving; and the complete reconstruction of the Lake Mead Boulevard Interchange.

• Responsible for reviewing construction activities including bridge deck work, concrete

pouring, and asphalt under a program management contract.

• Supervised roadway excavations, two bridge structures, plantmix bituminous pavement,

median paving, concrete barrier rail, guardrail, storm drain collection and conveyance facilities, relocation of utilities, traffic signals, lighting systems, signing and pavement markings, fencing, and traffic control.

Geometric Designer; Bruce Woodbury Beltway at Summerlin Parkway; Clark County Public

• Assisted with the geometric design of this project including interchange configurations,

safety improvements, estimation of quantities, development of plans, and specifications.

• The scope of work included preliminary and final geometric design of single point urban

interchange, braided ramps, and direct connector ramps, design of seven bridges, multiple retaining walls, sound walls, permanent signing and traffic signals.

Research Assistant, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, NV, August 2003 – Sep 2005

• Prepared traffic impact studies for residential and commercial construction. As part of the study, volume and crash data was collected and analyzed to make recommendations.

• Worked on MUTCD for installing traffic signals near a major and minor intersection based

on eight warrants.

• Analyzed left lane storage capacity for left turning traffic at large intersections.

• Identified high crash pedestrian locations throughout Las Vegas as part of a FHWA

sponsored program. The scope was to check the effectiveness of the countermeasures

(pedestrian warning signs, flashing signals, channelization, raised median, dedicated

crosswalk, law enforcement etc) using before and after studies.

• Worked on traffic count data and AADT projections to estimate future volumes for multiple benefit cost analysis projects as part of five year State Transportation Implementation Plan.

• Conducted traffic volume and speed study to estimate the need of a stop sign or yield sign outside master planned communities.

• Worked on spot speed studies, delay studies and collision diagram nearby high density

residential areas.

• Actively involved in safe community partnership through child safety seat belt and bicycle safety programs.

• Analyzed pre and post campaign of seat belt safety surveys throughout the state of Nevada using hand held devices such as Iphone apps and PDA.
