ACADEMIC PROJECT

PROJECT TITLE: DESIGN OF R.C.C AND COMPOSITE BRIDGE

DESCRIPTION: This project deals with the design of double lane reinforced

concrete and composite bridge with foot path on either sides, which

consists of deck slab, longitudinal girders, cross girders, piers and

abutments. The span of the bridge is 16 meters. Slab moments are calculated

by using Pigeaud's curves. Longitudinal girders are designed by using

Courbon's method. Limit state method of design is using M25 and Fe415 is

carried out. In this bridge three longitudinal girders are provided at a

distance of 2.5 meters center to center. Cross girders are provided at a

distance of 4 meters center to center.

In COMPOSITE BRIDGE the longitudinal girders and cross

girders are provided with steel and the deck slab is of reinforced

concrete.
