the Virginia I-495 Express lanes and the I-95 Express Lanes Project. Raised

Increased media coverage by 37% through the institution of a media

Compliance Oversight

Monitored and managed more than $25 Billion in construction and operation

projects achieving nearly 30% in overall certified firm participation and

assisted in awarding more than $12 Billion to the small, minority, and

women -owned business community. Established and managed certified business

programs for various public and private sector projects ranging in size

Developed/implemented more than fifty contracting and employment compliance

Team Building and Business Development

Created and implemented a procurement outreach and training program to

fully inform and advise contractors and other affected stakeholders of a

Project's contracting and employment goals and opportunities. Trainings

included a review of appropriate outreach protocols and the project's

federal, state, and local mandates/ agreements.

Working with various primes, established four (project specific) DBE

Training Programs for Signage; General Contracting; and IT Services. In

addition to providing "hands on" training, a minimum of 25% of the contract

work was being performed by the DBE subcontractor.

PUBLIC AFFAIRS MANAGER: Responsible for Public Involvement regarding I-95

Express Lanes and the handling of all comments, and databases related to

the project. Effectively managing needs as a liaison for VDOT between

community member, elected officials, media, other stakeholders and the

project construction/operations team. This is nearly a 1 billion dollar

project that will increase capacity on VA's most congested highway.

Responsible for keeping the public informed and traffic moving during

construction. Outreach is focused on helping commuters get to work, and

maneuver around construction zones efficiently and safely. Other tasks in

this role include:

management solutions

PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Assist the Travesky team with outreach, and the public

relations portion of the VDOT Express Lanes project that put Express lanes

on I-495 in Virginia. This includes preparation and planning for design

public hearings, creating press releases, postcards, as well as attending

the meetings. Task included playing a significant role in handling all

public comments from the public hearings by collecting and logging all

comments, creating a database, organizing the responses and creating a

final report that was distributed to local officials as well as posted on

line for the public to view. Continue to handle all general public

inquiries that come in. Assist the Travesky team as PR consultant on other

VDOT projects such as the Route 81 truck climbing lane, and the 460

corridor project. Other major clients include MWAA, and WMATA.

BUSINESS OUTREACH/ PROJECT OVERSIGHT: Provide hands-on expertise and

assistance to businesses seeking to become certified as DBE or SWaM (Small,

Women- and Minority-owned) companies, offering guidance and support during

the certification application process; Coordinated Networking Outreach

Sessions and Presentational Seminars to the DBE and SWaM, business

organizations and the community at-large, advising them of opportunities to

obtain contracts, employment, and provided support services on the Virginia

MegaProjects. Assisted firms with capacity building in an effort to ensure

the availability of DBE and SWaM vendors to all Mega Projects prime

contractors. Planned and coordinated DBE training seminars and workshops

that related to contract work on the Mega Projects. Participated in the

logistical planning for the annual VDOT career fair.

CONTRACT and EMPLOYMENT COMPLIANCE/OVERSIGHT: Responsible for providing

consulting, project management expertise and procurement outreach for

several projects within the DC metropolitan area. Monitored more than 30

First Source Agreement (FSA) Projects, working closely with the DC

Department of Employment Services (DOES) to ensure the District residents

were aware of the employment opportunities associated with the given

projects. Tracked all cost associated with the project; prepared press

releases for projects; conducted public outreach sessions for affected

stakeholders; conducted owner monthly meetings; subcontract buyouts;
