My resume as a hard working man in America. I happen to have been working in this
country since 1979, a year after I had left the State University of Haiti. First let me
introduce you to my most recent problem. I was hired by Darden Restaurants Red Lobster
on July 16, 1993 as a dishwasher until May 2013 a week after Mother's Day, when the
General Manager raised an issue against me based upon my Social Security number that
I had used ( 177 65 9183 ). As you can tell, that consists of nearly 20 years of hard labor
and it couldn't even be my first job in the United States of America. I worked for Draper
Brothers Inc. ( established in 1856 ) in Canton, Massachusetts from October 1981 to
October 1983. I have also been an empoyee at Bradlees Department Stores in East
Hanover and Parsippany, New Jersey from October 1985 to October 1987. I truly enjoyed
working for the Holiday Inn Hotel and its restaurants " Ruby's " and " Red Hot and Blue " in
Parsippany, New Jersey from April 7, 1986 to April 7, 1993. Finally on March 20, 1997, I
had to be transferred to Red Lobster Store 0695 in Ledgewood, New Jersey because the
previous location in Parsippany where I was hired from, was closed down. However the
new General Manager who came to rescue us, did not think it was necessary to ask me to
renew my employment application. I always knew how to get paid in this country with that
Social Security number.
If we try for a moment to set the record straight, right after the tragedies on September 11,
2001 when the World Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington DC
collapsed, President George W. Bush created the Department of Homeland Security that
required as chief policy an " e verify " of all employees and mainly immigrants in the
United States. On January 12, 2010 a devastating earthquake struck Haiti and killed more
than 300,000 people from the Caribbean nation. At the request of President Bill Clinton
serving as United Nations Special Envoy to Haiti since May 2009, President Barack
Obama granted the " Temporary Protected Status " to some 30,000 previously
undocumented Haitians living in the United States of America. Such a dramatic executive
decision that allowed me a new Social Security number ( 147 23 9879 ) that is " e verify ".
As I am not being prosecuted in the United States of America or anywhere else around the
world for falsifying documents which would be considered as a crime like counterfeiting
money, rape or murder, I am looking forward to be hired once more by Corporate America
using the legal Social Security number ( 147 23 9879 ) issued to me by the US Social
Security Administration in the State of New Jersey. I remember in 1979 having started a
job in Boston Massachusetts at a factory called '' Harry Miller Co. " that made canvas,
covers and pads. One of its principal customers was divisions of the United States Armed
Forces to keep us real busy. As I was making only $ 3 an hour and President Jimmy
Carter was in office, I had to work overtime on a weekly basis just to collect a decent
paycheck. Thus back in the day, employment of anyone willing to work was much easier.
No extensive backgrounds check was requested, your presence was your identification,
not your picture. Meanwhile I registered to Roxbury Community College and Boston
University also accepted my paper works, because I wanted to profit from a " Student
Grant " I had received from the Federal Government. Many things changed when without
a degree or credits that I could actually retrieve or rely on, I quit school for the nightshift
job at Draper Brothers Inc. paying $ 4 an hour. We've spent some time there during which
we tried unsuccessfully to put together a professional soccer team " Galaxy Soccer Club ".
The only satisfaction resulting from such endeavor has been the creation in the United
States of the " Major League Soccer " with teams like the " New England Revolution " the "
New York Red Bulls " and the " Los Angeles Galaxy " etc. It is worth noting that I had
never had any problem with my social security number until I was sent a new one. I came
to New York City from Boston in a Greyhound bus and a few weeks later I was in New
Jersey to quickly realize that this State is a great place to live and work, thus I was hired
at the department store which I mentioned above. But as a consequence of my travel habit
I had lost a wallet with my Massachusetts driver's license and the social security card. I
could only memorize the number to be accepted at the Holiday Inn Hotel as busboy and
dishwasher for seven years and part of it working two jobs. I have never changed my
name that much besides nicknames used by relatives and friends. I had to past a
screening test and have been fingerprinted by the " United States Citizenship and
Immigration Services " ( USCIS ) and everything was found correct for me to be issued an
" Employment Authorization Card " by this most trusted national institution in terms of
investigating a situation. If something is troubling me to the point where Darden
Restaurants or at least Red Lobster decided to lay me off, it's the fact that some managers
of the corporation are reluctant to accept these legal documents. I have made a very
pleasant trip to Haiti for the first time since 34 years ago on board Delta Air Lines flight 699
on September 22, 2013 and returned to the United States from JFK Airport in New York
City on September 28, 2013. I have also conceived an economic project which I wish so
much to be implemented by having Haitians living and working in countries like the United
States of America, Canada, France etc... to pay at least 5% of their incomes and 10% of
their annual income tax refunds to the Reconstruction of Haiti.
I would like to return to the " Driver's license " issue, how can anyone falsify such a
primary identification card with those drastic measures that must be taken along with all
the techniques used by the Department of Motor Vehicles before they could deliver one to
a person. Meanwhile I have been informed of numerous changes from the chain of
command or management at the big Darden Restaurants family, the multibillion dollar
corporation that include Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, Bahama
Breeze, Seasons 52, Eddy V's Prime Seafood, The Capital Grille. Although Mr. Clarence
Otis Jr. remains the Chairman and CEO, having replaced Mr. Joe L. Lee who retired from
Darden Restaurants in 2004, many managers and business leaders have been promoted
at Red Lobster alone. For example since July 15, 2013 Mrs. Sally Setta became President
of Red Lobster succeeding to Mr. David Pickens who served also as President of Olive
Garden and is now Chief Restaurant Operations Officer at Darden Restaurants. In
Ledgewood, New Jersey where Red Lobster Store 0695 is located, as I worked there from
March 1997 to May 2013 and recently renewed an application for employment, it's Mrs
Barbara Del Din the new General Manager. Let me remind you that Darden Restaurants
Inc. counts more than 2100 restaurant locations and more than 200,000 employees,
making it, according to Wikipedia the free Encyclopedia, the world's largest full service
restaurant company and its total assets as of FY ( fiscal year ) 2012 estimated at US $
5.944 billion. I think I am collecting unemployment benefits from the State of New Jersey
until I could find more works to do, that's why I call this my resume. By the way I was told
to specify what I am looking for. First I would like to return to my job at Red Lobster if any
of those employment blogs could not get me anything else and that is: Jobs titles: Baker,
Productions Specialist, Dishwasher, Day utility, Truck Receiving & Shipping, Server
Assistant. My address is 12 Hart Pl, Union, New Jersey 07083 and the e mail address is
***************@*****.***, also my phone numbers are ( mobile 908-***-**** ) ( home
908-***-**** ). My name is: Frantz C. Calixte. You know, after I have been working for
such a long period of time I've become versatile in the restaurant industry. It is like my
financial transaction institution or banking establishment from which I could cash my
paychecks. Right before the lay off Darden Restaurants Red Lobster since 2011 used to
pay me by making " Direct Deposits " to my accounts at Bank of America. The same
procedure was followed by the State of New Jersey Labor Department paying me regularly
the unemployment benefits until the Federal Government Emergency Unemployment
Compensation ( EUC ) expired on December 28, 2013. While working for the Holiday Inn
Hotel and Red Lobster I have profited from great services on the part of many banks such
as Collective Bank, Summit Bank, Fleet Bank that were later acquired by Bank of America
under the guidance of its Chairman Mr. Charles O. Holiday and its President and CEO Mr.
Brian T. Moynihan. The latter own brother Mr. Patrick Moynihan is the President of " The
Haitian Project " which runs a private Catholic boarding school for Haiti's disadvantaged
children in Port au Prince. Once again, Bank of America Corporation that has accepted all
my legal documents including the social security number to also issue me an ATM Debit
Card, was founded by Amadeo Giannini and is now the second largest bank holding
company in the United States of America by assets totalling by FY ( fiscal year ) 2013 US$
2.102 trillion. As you can tell we still have plenty of dough to mix up with american cheese
and bake Red Lobster bread. By the way I have been called for an interview by Red
Lobster in Ledgewood, New Jersey that sent me an e mail around July 15, 2014. However
since Red Lobster was sold by Darden Restaurants, Inc. to Golden Gate Capital for an
estimated 2.1 billion dollars, many notable changes should have occurred at the level of
the corporation CEO, President, Board of Directors or even General Management. The
deal was completed on July 28, 2014. I was also told over the phone, not to give up, to
keep on trying to get a job from the restaurant business that will remain so extremely
consistent until the end of times. After all it is about eating and serving healthy foods to
one another which can only prove our common humanity in the universe we're living. It is
worth noting that Darden Restaurants, Inc. has been able to keep a number of restaurant
brands from its international collection including Olive Garden from which I also applied for
a job, the LongHorn Steakhouse, the Capital Grille, the Bahama Breeze etc. In fact plenty
of opportunities are still being offered to us and hopefully we will be very soon satisfied.
Thank you very much. God bless you. March 03, 2014 modified on August 19, 2014.
