Experience
Started working at age 13 as a dishwasher. At 17 I started working in
factories which helped me to learn efficiency and organization. Later I got into
roofing. Then installed and refinished hardwood floors. Then helped remodel my
first set of apartments, where I learned finish work, painting, VCT flooring, carpet,
and building countertops. Soon after I joined the carpenters union as a first year
apprentice, and was taught how to build a structure from the ground up. I worked
for several different employers throughout my apprenticeship, I spent most of my
time as a union journeyman carpenter working for BEK incorporated and Unit
Construction in Anchorage,Ak. I also assisted my supervisor for Unit Construction
in building his house. I Built a Polaris dealership in Eagle River, Ak. for one of the
owners of Unit Con. And, built an addition for a swimming pool for one of the
owners of Unit,
I have worked as a maintenance carpenter on the US Coast Guard Base in
Kodiak Alaska for the last 13 years, From September 1990 to June of 2013. I was
laid off during the sequester because of job cuts due to lack of Homeland
Defense funding. But, because of my time spent on base Kodiak, I am familiar
with regular operations and maintenance. Customer service was a must. We dealt
with homeowners and people in the coast guard on a daily basis.
I worked under two separate contractors.
Alutiiq Management Systems, LLC and
Kodiak Support Services
Since June of 2013 I have built The Navigator Lounge. I worked at the Navy Seal
Base for a brief period, employed by Alutiiq Management Services, LLC. I helped
in completely remodeling a large charter boat.
