CAREER HISTORY
General Electric Infrastructures Queretaro (GEIQ, GE Aviation Global Site)
March 7th, 2011 to July 25th, 2014
Mechanical Design Engineer (Graduated from Edison Cornerstone Program)
Designed external hardware for Turbo Fan Engines in the New Product Introduction area (NPI). This
primarily involved mechanical design of sheet metal or machined Bracket supports and Heat -shields; it
also included the mechanical design of tubes, tube-hoses, drains and the routing of electrical harnesses.
Performed and/or interpreted modal analysis, high cycle fatigue due to vibrations, low cycle fatigue due
to thermal growth and static analysis due to installation loads.
Carried out external hardware clearance analysis and linear stack-ups to prevent interferences.
Conducted reviews of external hardware drawings to ensure correct definition of design intent.
Led international team integration activities to ensure all team members clearly understood project.
Integration involved design team, manufacturing, sourcing, product support, assembly and suppliers.
Led cost and weight reduction projects on brackets and ducts.
Communicated daily in English with counterpart engineers or sourcing colleagues in Evendale, OH via
email, phone calls and videoconference meetings as well as with some suppliers and customers to
coordinate engineering requirements of designed parts.
Developed and presented technical reviews to design board for external hardware.
Responsibilities included writing Design Record Books to document design studies and analysis results
and writing Change in Design documents in order to introduce new parts to the engine.
Timely communication of project status and any potential issues to upper level management and project
team, along with an action plan to solve issues in the design phase.
Runner-up for the Engineering Fulfillment Service Award for best aviation project company-wide:
Operational Bleed Valve (OBV) 7th Stage Introduction.
Graduated in July 2014 from the GE Edison Cornerstone Program, a rigorous development program
designed to enhance technical and leadership skills through specific courses.
LuK Puebla, S.A. de C.V. (Schaeffler Group)
June 1st 2010 – February 24th 2011
Mechanical Design Engineer (Top Talent Program)
Designed automotive clutch discs in the Product Development area.
Performed calculations of torque transmission, helical springs stress, and elasticity of clutch discs.
Conducted clearance analysis of the clutch disc in order to avoid interferences during installation and
operation.
Developed failure mode and effect analysis documentation.
Created 3D models and 2D drawings of clutch discs in Pro Engineer.
Reviewed clutch disc drawings for the design engineering team.
Led cost reduction projects:
- Determined improvements in material used for springs, procured new supplier, and performed
stress analysis to validate new material.
- Redesigned plates, involving modification of geometry and reduction of thickness.
- Reduced thickness on disc friction facings that were oversized.
Utilized SAP software (Systems Applications and Products) to manage engineering drawings, perform
changes in design, update bill of materials and consult technical information regarding the disc clutch.
Participant in Top Talent Program, a career path allowing rotation to different business areas of the
company (i.e. design, tests) in order to gain a more comprehensive technical knowledge of the product.
Volkswagen de Mexico, S.A. de C.V.
August 10th 2009 – February 10th 2010
Internship
Worked in the Technical Project Management team (TPL, “technische projektleitungng”).
Tracked commitment due dates for the timely release of parts. This involved coordination with different
technical areas such as electrical, mechanical and chassis, and coordination with Germany to track the
release of parts.
Utilized Microsoft Excel to manage tables, manipulate data across various tabs, and construct graphs in
order to present metrics related to released parts.
Technical Information Assurance Project: Led the integration of different technical areas to define
requirements and develop a tool to reduce reworks caused by errors in the technical data. This involved
the introduction to Mexico of a German program, which was implemented to manage complex technical
information and reduce human error by automatically consolidatin g information from sub-systems.
