This position involves refinishing countertops and bath tubs. I receive
work orders and complete work (3-4 units per day) according to the master
schedule while traveling in a company vehicle. I am responsible for the
proper upkeep of the company truck, including standard maintenance and
repairs. I also am responsible for the tools associated with refinishing,
ensuring all tools are clean and in good functioning order. Work often
involves working in occupied units, alone or with new trainees, ensuring
the protection of resident's furniture and belongings.
I was promoted to lead technician after only 9 months of working with
Central Wholesalers. My additional responsibilities include training new
employees in refinishing and safety techniques, such as ensuring fumes are
properly ventilated from the work area. I am responsible for maintaining
the inventory and the restocking of the company's refinishing supply shop.
After I assign work orders to the 8 to 10 employees in the division, I
provide any additional clarification needed and ensure work orders are
understood by staff.
