PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE – United States Air Force

Commander/Director of Operations, Pacific Air Force Regional Training Center, 03/2013 - Present

Leads 33-person unit in fast-paced environment training over 1,500 students pre-deployment and annual training in security operations, anti-terrorism, counter-improvised explosive devices, convoy operations, route/site clearances, self-defense, tactical combat casualty care, resource protection, and air advisor qualification. Manages security subject matter expert exchanges with United States’ allies and partner nations

in the Asia-Pacific region.

• Manages annual budget of $1.8 million, $22 million of weapons, ammo, and equipment, and $36 million of facilities and vehicles, and a 26,000 acre training complex.

• Lead Anti-Terrorism Officer certifying more than 200 Anti-Terrorism Officers, and conducting security assessments, anti-terrorism plans, and force protection guidance for joint task force operations and humanitarian assistance/disaster relief operations throughout 43 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

• Developed a mobile training concept covering 19 United States Pacific Command locations and saving $2.6 million in contracts and other expenses.

• Innovated new training initiatives to include a revamped Military Working Dog training and certification program, new state-of-the-art medical training lab, and a $750,000 weapons simulation facility project.

Director of Operations, Contingency Response, 736th Security Forces Squadron, 09/2012 – 03/2013

Led 30-person contingency operations section comprised of an airborne insertion team, close precision engagement teams, weapons and combat skill training, and “fly away security” teams that provided aircraft security in austere and high-threat environments.

• Managed security liaisons for foreign nations and international organizations in anti-terrorism and force protection efforts supporting a full spectrum of contingency operations.

• Deployed contingency support elements for joint task force missions in several countries to include the Philippines and India in multi-national disaster relief missions.

• Led multiple anti-terrorism and security efforts for missions supporting the President of the United States, US and Foreign Diplomats and key officials and over $1.4 billion in mobile assets.

• Commanded security of first regional coalition exercise involving 3 foreign nations, 70 aircraft and 823 flying missions.

Flight Commander, Southeast Asia, 01/2012 – 07/2012

Led 72-person security element securing over 3,000 coalition forces in a hostile environment.

• Created and led an improved local national camp visit program developing rapport and gaining intelligence, fortifying the base security zone in a high-threat environment.

• Developed and directed resource and force protection plan for first-ever joint United States/host nation air show, securing United States diplomats, host nation royalty and over 1,000 attendees during a two-day event.

• Initiated host nation training program conducing more than 500 hours of combat skills training with host nation military and strengthening joint capabilities.

• Directed aircraft security operations for over 100 United States Central Command combat and support flying missions throughout Southeast Asia.

Anti-Terrorism Officer, Southeast Asia, 10/2010 – 04/2011

Deployed installation Anti-Terrorism officer in charge of resource and force protection in an unsecure location.

• Developed anti-terrorism program from scratch including a robust anti-terrorism plan establishing emergency and contingency procedures.

• Created and implemented active shooter program in a foreign nation.

• Implemented a Joint Security Coordination Center; communicated force protection threats, issues, policies, and recommendations to Department of Defense elements throughout the region.

• Directed/Led security for over 100 convoy operations, route clearance and personal security details. Efforts led to the capture of several individuals conducting suspicious and threatening activities.

Director of Operations, 14th Security Forces Squadron, 09/2009 - 09/2012

Led joint security operations team of 96 Air Force Security Forces and 27 Department of Defense security guards. Managed $600,000 annual budget, $4.5 million logistics section, and 23 unique security team capabilities ready for short-notice missions. Liaison for city, state and federal law enforcement agencies organizing joint training opportunities and collaboration in law enforcement operations.

• Directed anti-terrorism and security operations protecting 10,000 military,contractors, and families, and over 200 aircraft and capital assets exceeding $2.3 billion.

• Managed 12 Secret Service missions, 11 deployment missions, 12 multinational exercises, and numerous drug intercepts, illegal immigrant capture, investigations, and anti-terrorism measures.

• Integrated 22 Department of the Air Force police integration solving urgent manpower shortfall and increasing on-station manning by over 35% and slashing overtime by 95% resulting in $75,000 saved annually.

• Developed base’s first Integrated Defense Plan identifying threats and crafting mitigation courses of action including $5.4 million installation of anti-terrorism and force protection compliant facilities.
