Integration-EDOS
Cisco acquired Scientific-Atlanta (now known as SPVTG) in 2006; SPVTG was
fulfilling orders and creating enablement files for those orders through
its SAP, PEXP and PIMS systems. Also, at the time of the acquisition, all
of SPVTG's products were being manufactured by their company-owned
manufacturing plant in Juarez, MX. Over the years, the manufacture of
SPVTG products has expanded to include a number of non-Cisco owned
plants/repair centers and the collection of manufacturing data, order
fulfillment and enablement has grown to be a hybrid of many systems,
including SAP, SAP XI, Oracle, HVP, PEXP, and PIMS.
As a part of the SPVTG Acquisition integration program, Cisco is
planning to integrate Scientific Atlanta's current capabilities to support
Enablement Data File generation and distribution via Cisco Core systems.
Enablement Data integration legacy data needs to be migrated from various
systems into Cisco Core Systems.
