OBJECTIVE
My objective is to work for an organization that enjoys celebrating and
contributing to the life of the people who make Canada the best country to
live in worldwide. Therefore I seek employment as a Senior Business systems
Analyst.
SUMMARY
My career in business analysis has been in the retail industry where I
gained 9 years cross system experience.
Early on I was heavily involved in promoting and resolving system errors.
This included not only logging the calls but interrogating code, resolving
erroneous logic, testing and correcting data. This was done with an
understanding and helpfulness in dealing with irate and angry clients.
Later I moved from troubleshooting and adhoc work to working through the
entire systems development life cycle of various large retail projects.
Various methodologies were used including Waterfall and Agile. Throughout
the projects, I liaised directly with the Client business unit to determine
their requirements, compiling functional and technical documentation and
assisting with user acceptance testing. At the same time I established
proficiency as a systems analyst/programmer in developing, testing, change
management and integration of code. Lessons learned analysis and post
solution assessment were conducted.
My communications skills have been very well honed. Much of the work
required interpersonal interaction and I developed trusting relationships
with my colleagues and clients alike. I have used verbal and written
techniques when communicating with both the business unit concerned and the
technical team. I am also able to explain technical components to non
technical staff in a conceptual manner that successfully transfers
knowledge. I gained a full and complex understanding of the retail custom-
designed system and my subject matter knowledge of the subsystems and how
they interacted with each other was frequently and significantly called
upon for advice and knowledge transfer in the development of a new more
efficient design.
