ESTIMATING ABILITIES
• Basic quantity take off skills taken from prints while using specifications
• Estimates with a basic breakdown into labor, equipment, and materials
• Heavy Highway:
o Estimates including cubic yard as well as per unit quantities.
o Cubic Yard quantities apply to cut & fill, road box out, utility and storm drainage
installation.
o Coefficients as they apply to the difference between loose, compacted, and settled
fill.
o Per Unit quantities as they apply to storm drainage, utilities, landscaping, signage,
etc.
o Finding the most efficient truck schedule to avoid long queue times and traffic.
• Building Construction:
o Estimates including surface area, per unit, cubic foot, and cubic yard quantities.
o Surface area quantities as they pertain to formwork, insulation materials, building
siding, interior wall finishes, waterproofing, etc.
o Per unit quantities as they apply to structural pieces from top to bottom of
commercial and industrial buildings. More per unit quantities include finish
pieces such as lights, doors, fire protection equipment, CCTV systems, security
systems, hardware, etc.
o Cubic yard quantities as they apply to concrete and cut & fill
• A focus on Value Engineering:
o High quantity items that can be replaced retaining the same value at a lower cost.
o LEED certified additions that have extensive long term benefits.

Spazzarini Construction Company, Enfield CT 6/2013 - Present
Assistant Survey Technician
Spazzarini Construction is a medium sized site work/road developer that does work around
Connecticut and Massachusetts.
Contributed the following activities:
• Various layout activities include, marking utilities, checking existing flow line and
structure grades, and laying out saw cuts for utilities.
• Assisted Surveyor complete the following, holding the rod during total station work and
level loops, pounded grade stakes in during total station and GPS work, installed hub and
tack and rebar for temporary benchmarks, and helped complete site investigation.
• Surveying was used for road box out, finished grade for site work, and to establish pre-
cast structure location and grade using hub and tacks.
• Performed labor activities while installing utilities, developing roads, and completing
excavations.
• Labor activities included running storm pipe which ranged in size from 4” PVC to 16”
Corrugated ABS (familiar with collar and Fernco connections), setting pre-cast structures
for storm systems including manholes and catch basins

Hawthorne’s Agway is a local lawn and garden store that offers the community a large variety of
lawn, garden and pet products at a reasonable price with a high level of customer service.
Contributed the following activities:
• Assisted customers while they purchased fertilizer, grass seed, spreaders, garden supplies,
and animal feeds.
• Answered phone calls regarding product information
• Cleaned and maintained the warehouse, the store, and the grounds.
• Operated forklifts and hand jacks while loading one ton vehicles as well as loading and
unloading trailers.

Masonry Project, Residence, Enfield, CT Summer of 2010
This was a 135 foot retaining wall constructed of a 3 side snapped quarry stone using a dry lay. I
completed the project mostly on my own and did not charge for labor.
Performed the following activities:
• Contributed design ideas
• Picked stones from quarry
• Formed stone with a cut off saw and hand tools
• Laid stone using a line level as a guide
• Backfilled and hand tamped the wall with processed stone and top soil
• Planted shrubs
