Title : PTM
Client : Payroll Tax Management, USA.
Environment : C#, .Net 4.0, Visual Studio. NET, ADO.NET and SQL Server 2008.SSRS.
Duration : 2 years
Description:
PTM provides payroll tax processing services to mid-market and large corporate employers, as
well as payroll service bureaus throughout the nation. Handling local, state and federal payroll tax processing
in all 50 states in USA, PTM has the payroll tax expertise to help companies migrate their risk exposure in a
cost-effective manner.
Client
• Here we register the Processor and all of their clients. Each client is a company in USA.
• Client’s Bank information, Payroll (Weekly, Bi-Weekly, Semi Monthly, Monthly) and Agencies taxes
to be paid are maintained in the pages payroll, Banking and Agency Respectively. These information
are added manually or uploaded by file also.
• Client inputs their payrolls via ITAX, MTAX, or via Manual input. Imported payrolls and input payrolls
are maintained here.
• Reports are available such as Payroll tracking, Negative pending payment, Balance report etc.
Process
• Once the import payroll data is received drafts can be created. Each unique bank account will have a
unique draft record. (Some time a client might submit more than one import payrolls and their bank
account is same) then we should combine those data into one draft.
• Drafts basically contain bank information like which account and how much money etc.
• Pending drafts: Some time due to some mistake PTM may take more money from client. The extra
money will stay as pending draft and will be utilized in future transaction.
• Post Payroll is the combination of all import payroll and input payroll transaction for a client. Post
payroll basically give us the total transaction per client data.
• Process post payments is the process of creating payments for different agencies.
• Deposit Payments is the process to generate ACH file or checks for different agencies like FED, State
etc.
• State EFT,FED EFT and Checks are also maintained.
• Reports done for Tax Liability variance,Drafts,FED EFT,STATE EFT, Checks, Import payrolls, Input
payrolls etc
Forms And EFiling
• Usually we have to submit some forms for paying tax to a particular agency. These forms will be
different from agency to agency. The process of filing and submitting the forms to the agency will be
generated and downloaded. Some agencies may also accept the details in the electronic file format.
Quarter End (QE)
• QE Files are imported from Client Module, which have information such as current amount, Quarter
to end(QTD) amount, Year to end (YTD) amount, employee information, employee count etc.
• QE Module is to verify the payroll reported in a the quarter by different periodic payrolls up to the
Quarter end.
• QE payrolls are posted and posted payrolls are verified by Post QE Data Integrity. If any mismatch
between periodic payroll and QE data, it won’t move forward until they clear that error.
• Then clients without error are closed and if there is any variance while closing, QE adjustment payroll
is created and processed from Process Module.
• Reports are done for Payroll vs quarter variance, QE vs Year end variance, Summary Report,
Employee wage, Employer wage, Close ledger Report and more details.
W2
• In W2 Module, all the periodic payrolls and the QE payrolls for a client for the whole year can be
verified processed and finally SSA forms are generated.
• Then Reports are also done for Import W2 variance, Post W2 variance,W2 phase report and So on.
