Lead all facilities and utilities operations providing
services to a global bioresource center and research
campus. In charge of leading several capital projects and
other operational projects, critical to fulfilling the
organizational goals. Developed an Operational Excellence
Program, a continuous improvement program based on Lean
Sigma methodologies. The program, that has provided hard
savings of over $800K in less than a year, has already
trained 160 Yellow Belts, 152 submitted projects, 36 high
financial potential projects, has been identified as one of
the most important and effective initiatives implemented
during the year 2013.
Accomplishments:
. Developed a corporate-wide operational excellence program
providing immediate financial results and positively
changing the operational culture towards Continuous
Improvement.
. Provided Lean-Sigma Yellow Belt certification to 160
employees.
. Leader of the Operational Excellence Leadership Team,
supporting 109 active Continuous Improvement projects
just seven months after the program implementation.

In charge of leading the Facilities, EHS, Utilities Project
Management and Business Continuity Departments, providing
service to a dynamic multi-business medical manufacturing
site. Provide management support to all the engineering,
manufacturing, and quality departments within the site.
Provide guidance and direction to the engineering and
technical groups within a highly regulated environment. In
charge of implementation of Business Continuity Plan for
all Business Units and Functional Areas within the Juncos
site operation. In charge of developing, budgeting and
managing all Facilities Improvement projects within a
242,000 sq ft facility in addition to leading the
Facilities Management function. Accountable for an annual
operating budget of $10M. Provide support as Energy Manager
to the other Medtronic facilities in Puerto Rico.
Accomplishments:
. Led an environmental / photovoltaic energy project to
supply approximately 28% of the total electrical site
load.
. Team leader and project manager of a Chiller Replacement
project which will provide an annual saving of $942K in
energy cost, in addition to reducing 5,800 tons of CO2
emissions.
. Responsible for direct reporting to Business Units
Management and to Corporate EHS with regards to monthly
metrics, updates, regulatory issues and Management
Reviews.
. Responsible for implementing Business Continuity
Management assessments, gap analysis, deployment plans
and control measures.
. Developed BIRA (Business Impact Risk Analysis) for all
value streams and functional areas within a facility
enclosing five different medical device business units.
. Appointed as leader of MPROC Facilities Council which is
directed to align best practices among all MPROC plants.
Have led the group to achieve excellent results and
complete all the goals previously set upon the Council's
creation. Through the initiatives addressed in the
council new valuable programs have been developed, for
example: Arc Flash Program, Change Control Process for
Critical Utilities, and Procurement Control Procedure.
