Manhattan Associates Transport Management System
This project involved customizing Manhattan Associated Transport Management System to Publix
transportation needs and integrating with Publix data sources. Publix had very particular
transportation needs like transportation of Inbound Produce. Manhattan Associates
Transportation Management System was chosen over SAP Transportation Module. The TMS
system allowed transportation of produce and non-produce items. Different modes of
transportation like TL (Truckload), LTL (Less than Truck Load) and Intermodal using
continuous moves could be selected. Payments methods like Collect and Pre-paid can be
enforced. The TMS contained five modules, Purchase Orders and Transportation Orders,
Shipment Planning, Resource Selection of Carriers, Carrier Portal, Track and Trace, Freight
Audit Payment and Claims. My QA tester role in this project involved Testing and Quality
Assurance of this system involved setting sample data sets for purchase orders,
transportation orders, shipments, carriers, carrier equipments, carrier modes etc. The
Consolidator Engine that used to optimize the shipment routes was also tested. Integration
testing involved testing of Publix data sources from the mainframe systems like PIMS and
Marwood and SAP HR and SAP FICO systems. Database testing and data flow testing
between different modules was extensively done
